Hi lwheat,

I recently and gladly and as you may have noticed, favourite’d some of your work. I find it eye-catching and wonderfully composed.

I don't know if you are already aware of the fact, but I am doing a study at college on how people decide if they like or dislike a piece of art. At the top of my DeviantART home page, I had a statement outlining the study.

I've just been reported to the staff here on DeviantART by an artist for intellectual property infringement, and was very saddened and shocked by this. As a result, I wish to fully inform all those who’s work I fav’d to let you know that no infringement of your intellectual property was intended, or will occur at any time during my study. Furthermore, if you want to me to remove you from consideration, or if you wish withdraw at any time later on, please let me know. No profit is or will be made from this academic endeavour, and all images are used under the fair uses rationale (low resolution image only, all credit to the artist, academic purposes only, etc). None of the works used will be printed, but instead will only be displayed on a computer screen for a few seconds.

If I am not banned, I plan to continue posting updates of my study, and the final findings in or around March 2008.

I hope that you would feel positive about this, fully informed, and would like to take part. If you have any further questions, please contact me, and I will be only too happy to clear anything up, or just have a chat about the study, art, or anything else.

I saw your photo 'Carolina' last weekend at the RMIT open day, so I presume you are currently doing the BA (Photography) course?

I am very interesting in taking this course so could you please give me some advice in regards to the folio and interview process.

hey kelvin,

sorry i haven't written earlier, don't often check these things.

it's a commercial course. not art. realise that now and you'll be fine.

i'm actually in NYC at the moment on exchnge.

with the initial folio - follow the brief. i believe it is x number of 5x7. do it. show that you can read what they ask for and give it to them. only give your best work.

38942405, 38940352, 35509409, 35508263, 35506714, 29553618, 28277266, 27052211, 25992249, 21658784, 16485916 are the ones in your gallery i would use.

you have to write a statement? write why you want to become a photographer. make sure it comes fromthe heart and is true. the teachers are all photographers and can read through the bullshit.

note me again in a couple of days - it's late now - and i'll write some more for you.

well, how can I possibly know for sure whether you know how to use your camera?.... maybe you're just lucky when it comes to using it. I can only say based on what I see in your gallery that it seems you do know how to use your camera. it's so cute when people fuss over words, makes for such a good laugh ;) (Wink)
