hi,
ok i'll dispense the obvious, u got very good pictures etc... I do think ur on the right track, i went to see ur pics at masqued too, to try to anderstad better ur work. u got a very nice body and expression, but using ursef as a model makes it harder to create good photos, everithing is harder to control: the light, the framing, the body language. Using another model is a good idea . try to use more controlled lights, less background lighting, play with colour gels, soft/hard light. frame off center. In ur pics there is almost always something in the center of the shot, try to avoid that. U got great potential, i'll b watching ur evolution

Helena,
Your Beast series is brilliant and worthy of any & all acclaim it recieved from your trail audience. The lighting and tonal values are very well done, not to mention your eyes. Your eyes contain such mystery, they are rather seductive.
Peace! Tony

Interesting....
Firstly, this on DA -
'...please don't think you are doing me a favour by flaunting your ignorant, condescending 2 cents around. By the way, I was an art student for six years and I know 90% of what we say is bullshit and the other 10% is incomprehensible at best. Just because you use words like "negative space" and "thirds rule" doesn't change my opinion of you nor your comment.'
From INTENSELY ID v. SPRING 04
But then this -
'Many of you perhaps know me from my gallery on deviantART. My photography practice stemmed from the critiques I received there...'
From your website - Masqued
I'm sure you have now put me into the smartass category - I hope not though.
Take Care

LOL... HUGE huge difference between the thoughtful critiques and piles of bullshit I used to receive so it's not really a contradiction, but admittedly, the latter was a little exaggerated so as to not completely write off everyone who knew me on DA. But I haven't even read that paragraph since I first created the site months ago so believe me, it will change .
Nitpicky you are but I shall always remember that fondly...
Surprised to see you back,
H.

I'm not really back - I've been travelling for the last year, so I've lost a bit of interest in DA.... I'm not sure if I'll get my interest back, but I still pop onto your page from time to time to see what's been happening.
Cheers

I only use this place as an advertisement space for my website now and I disable comments on my deviation posts because they become too much to deal with.
Where did you travel to?
π: 0 β©: 1
aussiepoida In reply to intensely [2005-06-13 15:14:52 +0000 UTC]
The year was 12 months, so I went to a lot of places. To summarize though, I spent most of my time in Switzerland, followed by the UK. These two places account for 8 months. The rest of the time was spent in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Canada and the USA, with sort trips to Italy and Germany in between
Needless to say, it was a fantastic trip and I enjoyed every minute of it (except perhaps some of the time I spent working in England... it got to be very boring after a couple of months)
Cheers

I notice you're using the Enigma album art as your ID - nice choice
I hope you're keeping well these days. I havenβt been very active on DA for a long time, but I popped by your gallery and was glad to see you were still submitting strong and original work.
And with that, I wish you a good day.
Cheers

Thanks for the on the Peacock photograph.
Reading your journal entry, its true, models can be creative, and must also have the ability to carry out their own ideas, and that of the artists'.
