The two persons in the picture are Anubis and Thoth (you can see a bigger version of them in my other two deviations). They're Egyptian gods, which always fascinated me. And the bird is a thunderbird, which is also mentioned in the book. They impressed me with their size and their function. Beautiful book. You have to read it.

The lighter pieces were all made for the Dark/Light contest. The task is to create a light picture with dark content. Since my current situation is more than shitty at the moment the light pictures do not come easily - I do think they look forced. I wish they wouldn't.

The inscription on the gravestone wasn't changed by me. It's the original stock photo (the link is in the list). I thought it was very sweet, even though it's somehow sad. I don't like overdone gravestones with angels and flowers and sculptures and long whining texts, so that's why I really like this one. One word says it all. We don't need more information on the person...somehow beautiful...and very sad. There's a doll above the gravestone...and an angel waiting at the right upper corner...the interpretation is, as usual, up to the viewer.

"Unbearable Lightness..." was my first attempt to create a lighter piece with dark content. I'm not quite satisfied...maybe the dark content is too forced. I'm glad you don't think it's too packed. It's hard to find the right balance...

The photo was taken with my webcam, so it's horribly grainy and has such a bad quality...that's also the reason why I packed this piece with layers.

I'm glad to hear from you again. I've already told everyone about 100x times already, but at the moment I'm more than busy. We have no money left, so I'm searching for a second job and I'm about to finish my studies...so I'm working hard and have no time for other stuff. It's hard to keep up with everyone - in fact I can't keep up with anyone at the moment. I'm at the uni or at home. No time for anything really. I hope this'll change in summer.

thank you so much for the favorite on "skindeep". I definetly agree with you about the green. It brings a vitality to the image, and although it may distract a little from the subjects, the colors are far more vibrant than if it were shot with a white, boring wall.

The Angelina Jolie Picture is 100% my own work. I used photo references, and I made outlines. The rest I airbrushed myself. Airbrush and smudge tools I used most on this work. Maybe there is no real imagination behind it, but I like making paintings. Especially where Angelina Jolie is concerned. LOL
