Hi Matthias, Please excuse the incredibly late reply. Thank-you very much for the nice comments on some of my work. I really appreciate it. BTW I didn't make most of those models. They were free d loads and I changed them around a bit to try and make them original. Ive got a long way to go to be doing things like you. Thanks again,

for the character animations I just used stock 3ds max 5 bones and skin and good ol' keyframes

I did use a cool script called righelp to help me set up the bones, and wrote a few of my own scripts to stop feet and hands from sliding about the place...

Yeah, Its nothing, I have a good day
The script to change to best is: setProperty("_root", _quality, "best")
You can get similar look than using the html parameter!

If you take a look in the fishes you can see the enormous difference between qualities

The only problem with best quality is more slow frames rate in small PCs, because image quality is always over transitions speed

render time: 1:20.

turning up the aliasing would lock my puter down for way way too long for me to deal with. plus, I'd also have to crank up my final gathering and volumic sampling

(the smoky look came from a nice combination of low aliasing, low final gathering and low volumic sampling)
