Ooh, good luck with that. Too long indeed! (And I thought I was getting out late). I don't like the summer either. For one thing, the heat is unbearable... D: I get hot tooooo easily. (It can be 10-20 degrees F and while I'm walking to school, it'll look like I just came from the desert). But having no school is awesome. (Except for the summer work they give you).

Thank you I sure need it since I haven't even read the books yet xD I have Macbeth by Shakespeare (and I HATE studying plays; they just confuse me ) and a 200 page book and a whole bunch of poems
It's the same here in Summer. So so hot and horrible! And of course the electricity goes off a lot and you're left with no fan which is really just the cherry on top of the cake xD

We did Macbeth as well! I don't like analyzing poems and Shakespear's plays and sonnets... Too mind boggling...

I hate when it's really humid and sticky. That's the worst... You loose electricity a lot? That sucksss! But at least you have a way to cool off. I have no AC let alone a fan. But my apartment is surrounded by trees so I think that's keeping things SLIGHTLY cooler, but not cool enough... D:

And the poems that we have to study are so long and don't make any sense! Me I like simple poems with emotions in them not about nature and how 'the sea is like a dog' lol And Macbeth well I read the scenes over and over again hoping that I'll understand but so far I'm stuck. And of course I'm completely insane! It's 10pm now and I havn't studied anything yet dA is too addicitve

Yeah cos they're fixing the power station or something so electricity won't be very good this Summer. It can NEVER be cool enough during Summer. Sometimes I dream and wish that I could go live in Alaska or some really cold place xD

The only poems we did were about immigration and how an outsider may describe a culture in a different way than the people who belong to the said culture. Also, we did sonnets about someone who loved someone else...? What don't you get about Macbeth? (Like, what scenes do you need to know?) I can try to help if you'd like, since we had to analyze the play (and find the symbols, themes, tone, etc). So much work!

I agree. I could go live in the arctic for the summer and I'd be happy. (Well, maybe a little warmer, but it can't ever be more than 70 degrees F with a cool breeze).

Lol I wake up at 7 too xD But school starts at 8.20, I wake up early cos I have to catch the bus.

Finally I've just slept for 2 hours I am so so tired I think I'm going back to sleep again. I didn't sleep at all last night I just studied all night till the morning and then left for school lol.And the bad part is I don't think I've done well in the exam except for the part about Macbeth weirdly enough. I guess studying really does pay off xD

Lol I hate when that happens, I just stay with my eyes closed for a whole hour just waiting for sleep.

Yep 2 more . 6 exams are ready and I have 6 more; 2 tomorrow, 2 the next day and 2 on Friday. I know, horrible! lol
Tomorrow I have English Language first which should be rather easy though I have to write a lot but second exam is religion which I'm not exactly good at to put it mildly haha. I'm gonna have to pull another all-nighter today cos it's past midnight now and I've just started studying :/

The poem's quite short though and it's about happiness I've changed it quite a few times. I think it's ready though. =]

Literature is so exciting! I've really never noticed before starting this account. I've already written five poems again lol but I haven't posted anything yet. Maybe next week I'll post them all when school would finally be over. I've tried two haikus and I don't know if they're good or not. I like simple poems and I don't think haiku SHOULD be simple lol but I'm really eager to try everything!

My school has a blocked schedule so I had 4 last semester and 4 this semester. Oh no! You need sleep! Have fun writing! I bet I failed my math class. I had a sucky teacher who yelled at us for asking questions. D:

I wrote one haiku a long time ago and I didn't like it, so I haven't written one since. I prefer just free written, as in no rules. Though sonnets aren't toooo bad...
But yes, I agree, literature can be quite exciting. (Sometimes).

Blocked schedule? What's that? We have 12 exams in the second semester (we call it term here ) and another 12 in the third :/

lol I really do need sleep but I really don't want to get bad marks cos at my school they divide students in classes according to the marks they get and well a lot of 'bad' classes don't do anything cos they don't want to.

I like math actually lol. If you need any help I hate teachers who do that

It's when we have four different classes each semester for 80 minutes for each class instead of all 8 classes at once for 45 minutes each. Terms here are considered half a semester.

That's not a good way of organizing students...

Have you done pre-calc yet? I'm about to. I've only skimmed the summer assignment, but it seems the first problem of each section is solved, so hopefully I'll get it. I'm trying to switch out of AP biology because the work is scary.....

Sonnets are 14 lines, the first 8 are called an octet, the last 6 are a sestet. There's 5 iambs per line and 10 syllables per line. (Or something like that... The iambs confuse me). The last two lines are a couplet and either sum up the message of the sonnet or change the tone. The rhyme scheme is ABABCDCDEFEFGG. The joys of English class...

That's like the school my brother goes to then. I think it's a much better way to learn when you focus on less subjects at a time.

What's pre-calc? and AP biology? lol sorry i'm so clueless but the subjects here are called diffrently too Is pre-calc what we call mathematics? and we have biology here but what's AP? lol

Pre-calc is like an introduction to calculus. You do calculus, but nothing very in depth. Then when you take calculus, it's all calculus (obviously) and more in depth. AP biology is advanced placement biology, so it's like a regular biology, but more in depth than an honors level, MUCH more work like reading and writing. And very in depth.

In my school we have different levels to some classes. They go from (lowest to highest) CP 2, CP 1, HN, AP. CP 2 is a college prep level (hence the CP) but very basic/easy. (As far as I know, since I've never taken it). CP 1 is a bit more in depth than CP 2 but still not as much work as HN (honors). Honors is in depth, more work, and goes at a quicker (but not too quick) pace. (See above paragraph for AP).

Math is split into different subjects, so you have Algebra 1, which is pretty much like 8th grade math but a little more in depth, in that you do more with what you learn. After that is Geometry, (you know, the shapes, degrees, angles, etc.), and then Algebra 2, which is like Algebra 1 but you add on to what you've learned. Such as you learn more ways to work using algebra, you do more with polynomials, regression, etc. The last two are pre-calc and calculus.

Yeah, but then if you take, say Algebra 2 first semester but don't take Pre-calc (comes after algebra 2), until second semester of the next year, then you'll have gone for a whole year without math and it's likely you've forgotten something. I'm just afraid of forgetting stuff...

Coming up with a rhyming scheme such as that does take a good amount of thinking.
