Hi, just wanted to say I used a lot of your various grunge brushes in a school project... the first page is here [link] and the description links to the other four pages. This was my first time working with different brushes in gimp... so I know it's a bit unschooled, but hopefully I'll improve with practice.
I was working at 300 dpi for nice printing, so the brushes didn't "stretch" as far without getting pixellated, but I loved the look of them very much and managed to pull off (in my opinion) a nice contrast between the crisp look of the smaller ones and the fuzzy, unfocused kind of zoomed out look of the scaled up brushes. the ink brushes were phenomenal, I do say. thank you very much for your generosity!!

Sorry for the late reply. If you had some vector software you could trace the stamps so they're scalable for higher resolutions, but they'd probably lose their grungy effect.
A lot the brushes come off old 8mm and 16mm film grabs, so they're a little small for commercial printing.

It's all right--I've managed to use them multiple times for awesome effect, even with high-res printing! thanks so much again! I've done another school project with 'em (especially the ink ones) and it turned out terrific. I can't post it though because it's intensely personal...

Hey. I'm using your scratchie brushes for a pro-bono commercial project for a local non-profit. Just wanted to get your ok before using your work.
Thanks for making these! Let me know if it's not ok for me to use it in this manner.
The non-profit is Free IT Athens, which provides free computers to people who need them in our area.

People can do whatever they want with my brushes, but you should check permissions on derivative works with their creators. (In this case lifebtb, I'm pretty sure he is fine with non-commercial projects.)
Cheers.
