I work for a dental practice, and one of the things that most workers for any medical field are continuing education credits (CE). That's mostly what the convention was for, various courses to earn CE for continuing to hold on to your license. It was a Th-Sa event so my brain was rather unhappy with it. As for the opposite world of dancing, I dance Lindy Hop and Blues and thankfully there's a good amount of that during the week. As far as who I go dancing with, I usually hang out with Houston Cats Corner . They're a great group of friends.

Haha, Turtleton with a view! xD We're on the waitlist for A-Fest, and it's iffy after the black-hole incident last year. If we can't manage to get in though, you can always order a print.

Well, if there's any advice I can offer, make sure Julie knows about the incident. Back in 2010, I was helping work a table that was right next to the cosplay meetup section and we had to scream over everyone to even do business. We were having a pretty miserable time, but when we told Julie, she immediately got to fixing things. She's very good at applying feedback, and from what I gathered by the map they sent with my reg forms, they have a completely new layout:
 

Also, you should totally get Sam to needle-felt a Turtleton. I would buy that in a heartbeat.

When we talked to her about our spot, she didn't seem very interested in helping. It felt like there was a lot of "Well, everyone else is doing just fine. There IS not con alley, they're spread out everywhere, so you can't complain you're in con alley (we were between two con tables)." I understand she was probably really stressed out trying to keep everything running smooth. And, when we did have a firm idea of something to do, like angling our end of the row outwards and taking over another table on Monday, she was cool with it. It's just that the impression we got in person was of someone who just wasn't that interested.

As for a needle-felted Turtleton, well, if she doesn't do it, I will! But you're right. She totally needs to.

Hmm... I wonder what happened. I guess if nothing else, you could always request to be next to a particular artist next time so you know you won't be isolated. I didn't see you guys on the list for Afest this year but if you do ever choose to come back, you can request to be next to/near my table. I'll make sure to let Julie know that you guys are friends of mine and request you next to mine as well if you ever choose to do so.

Also, I turned the turtleton sticker I bought into a magnet for my mom because she thought the button on my hat was so cute. She has a rescued river turtle as a pet that we just recently realized was male so it's also hilariously good timing.

I've actually gotten a lot of comments on Turtleton. Makes me wish I had grabbed a stock of your business cards to keep in my wallet.

Of course! I usually go to conventions in the Artist Alley, and I LOVE meeting other artists, especially those just getting in to it. I took a look around your gallery, and I'm seriously impressed by the skill you have for the amount of time you've been drawing. At the rate you're going, you'll catch up FAST! I'm looking forward to seeing more from you.
