quisite work.
I have been a professional (traditional media) artist for more than ten years, and had a great deal of success after working very, very hard for year upon poverty-stricken year.
Every now and then I wander the web and see what's what... I've been doing that for twenty years and in many ways it is a means of assuring myself that I work HARD, that my work is simply... GOOD... that it moves people.
I've had ten solo shows (I live in perth Western Australia) and won more than 18 awards, some international...
I'm telling you this stuff so that you will listen to me.
Because you need to.
When I wander the web, I find talented folks, it's true. But it is rare that work will blow me away.
Very, very few times have I been moved to enjoy an entire portfolio from one artist.
I mean... I KNOW it is just fkin HARD to keep up that kind of quality day after day and work after work.
I have always been able to keep secure enough, in my own work, when I have placed it against the beauty and power of other artist folks.
I am a strong person. I have earned my scars and my glory.
I am wise. I believe that I see the savage miracle of the world... but more than that I want you to believe that I KNOW the bloody strings that run beneath every one of us and I look as hard as I can look and i listen as hard as I can listen and I feel so HARD so very much.
And I tell you this, Don Malo of the UK.
YOU ARE THE CLEAREST, MOST PURE EXAMPLE OF WHAT EVERYTHING ABOUT GENIUS MEANS THAT I HAVE EVER EVEN IMAGINED COMING ACROSS.
Know this.
Try and force it into the straining shutters of your heart.
I ask you to ask yourself to believe it because
I SWEAR TO YOU IT IS SO.
It has been a humbling privilege to see the supremely beautiful, subtle, powerful and affecting wonders that are your works.
Thank you for that.
I feel really very insecure now.
Oh you can see my work here if you want.
redbubble.com/people/pauldrobertson
you should look.
I want you to look, yes.
AH well.
Nice to meet you dude.
Luck.
And don't ever fucking stop.
Oh, also.. I found you on deviant art.
This your page, artofmalo is one of the ugliest websites I have ever seen.
You should prolly change that.
Really.

Good to see more from you!
And while I'm sure some people give you grief about all the dark and muted coloring, I enjoy it very much; both as a contrast to so many artists' full sunlight and because it reminds me of my favorite days back in my childhood and teens (I'm now 57). I used to have serious problems with bright lights, loud noises, strong flavors, and other sensory overload (apparently the result of my being born hypothyroid), so my favorite days were heavily clouded and often raining.
In that weather I could go out and walk, enjoying the trees and grass and birds and all, both in the heart of town and in parks--especially since those grey days kept most other people indoors, so parks weren't full of children shrieking and crashing into me, and so on.
These days, modern medication and advancing age have reduced my oversensitivity to only about 15% over most people's comfortable range, but I still remember those rich darker colors and textures, and the cool damp summer breezes, and the uninterrupted pleasures of imagining scenes over those uncrowded landscapes--this tree-crowned hill in Lorien; that stack of broken concrete by the creek a post-apocalypse lair; a mist-cool morning the home steppes of my Dorsai-like assassin; this campground's path a forest path that could open out to anywhere, like a gate between the worlds....
So thank you, not just for your great art, but also for using those clouded colors that remind me, not just that I used to tell myself those stories (that part I hadn't forgotten), but how it all FELT, down to the subtle shifts of pre-rain wind against my bare arms and the hair against my skin.

I saw one of your works listed under "More from deviantART"
and was like "oh I remember that one, I haven't seen anything from him in awhile even though he's on my watchlist..."
You most certainly were NOT!
anyway, here I am to fix that issue.
Also to gush at you.

Hi, my name is Gianluigi and i'm a Publisher, 3D Animator and Storyteller. My newborn publishing company, GL Interaction, is now working at the first issue of a new 3D digital/ Full interactive Magazine planned for
for the next weeks (possibility, foe example, to insert video gallery, photo gallery, links to website, 3D models in Augmented Reality, script html5 and so on). This magazine will be avaiable for apple and android devices. Within the next issues it would be great to insert some of your amazing works and, if possible, a link to a making of (but this is not necessary). We also have the sections "2D Art" and "Talents from world" where we can put in your amazing 2D painting. That's it! if you're interested we need some full hd images of your works (with also images of production's stage: AO, Wireframe etc... if is a 3D Work), the label of copyright that we need to insert over the pictures, and some technical information about the opera: name, software used, information about special technics used, link to website and portfolio. Also, there's a possibility to use some materials for an animated cover.
Hoping in your reply, I offer you my most cordial greetings.
Dr. Gianluigi Lasco
