Heya. I'm Daniel, or dekw. I also go by a bunch of profanities, if you dislike me that much, so I don't mind if you call me that either.I haven't been through too much, although I'd venture to say I'm a little off the benchmark of "normal". Like everyone else old enough to remember things, I have a life story, but I don't think it's too interesting. After all, it's just words. That said, you're free to ask about it if you're curious.
I don't get a lot of things; if it doesn't make sense on a basic rational level (like many social things) it will go over my head, so bear this in mind if you try to talk to me. I have no sense of awkward, either.
I don't like people all that much, but in contradiction to this, I'm probably not gonna tell you to go away because talking online is easy and it's not that I hate you, it's just that social presence tires me out (introvert here). If you approach me with problems and/or issues (for some reason, my general openness seems to cause that), then I will react one of two ways. If it is solely whining... I probably won't really listen. If it is for planning and causing change about said problems, then I'll do whatever I can to get you -- whoever you are -- on your feet and working at it again.
It is in that vein that I dare call myself generous, but not kind. I am perfectly happy to give my time and effort to people for nothing in return so long as they themselves are trying. I will not, however, spare people's feelings. In the end, I will state what I believe, kind or not.
At this point in my life, I am not an unhappy person. At points, I might seem it, because I am sarcastic, cynical, and don't always show my feelings in typical ways, but I am actually relatively satisfied with life.
Anyways, this is me in a nutshell. Say hi, post something random, drop me a pm, do something weird, or click away to the next page; it's up to you.

I was tempted to make up something. But then I didn't, because it would be thrusting myself into unfamiliar territory for no real reason.

It actually is a good idea to, like, not foolishly rush into unfamiliar situations with no foreknowledge, so I see your point. (And do they REALLY have comfort zone posters at your school? Hee hee hee! I only remember the "Carol never wore her Safety Goggles/Now she doesn't need them" ones.... and the student parodies thereof. XD)

I did. The guide awkwardly ignored me while everyone laughed and just went on. And I kept my hand raised the whole time and it made him even more awkward.
