# About me

Cristina Cantilena was born in Naples in May 1990. She has lived in Lucca, Tuscany, since 1994 where she studied painting and decoration at the A. Passaglia College of Arts.
In 2009 she entered Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, where, further to research on the re-use of waste materials for the creation of paintings, artworks and objects, she graduated in 2014 with a grade of 110/110.
During her years at the Academy she deepened her knowledge in photography, an art form to which she has dedicated particular attention.
Her artistic expression has been mostly experimental, with an emphasis on integration of waste materials, but never excluding the more traditional techniques.
