AJV was my baby for a long time. I had soooooo much fun writing it, and I didn't even really make much of a plan. I started working on a version from Vector's point-of-view, for fun and also to rewrite the story, because when I wrote it I was much less experienced at writing. I sort of regret a couple plot points, as well.... but I can't do anything about that.

I definitely do need to re-cultivate my online presence. Having a six-day manual labour workweek takes a lot out of me, and I haven't been very inspired to do fanwork either, mostly been working on personal sketches and writings. I have at least one big Sonic fanfic in me (not slash, just an adventure story that'd probably make a good comic), and one Vecpio slash that's like one-fifteenth plotted and might not amount to anything. I don't feel as drawn to my slash stuff as I used to, but I miss writing it.

No that's OK. Glad to see you responded! In fact, let me also say that A Joint Venture is one of the many fics that actually inspired me to start writing Vecpio (they're not on Fanfiction.net, it's on a different site, but if you really wanna read them, just tell me. I started writing about a month ago so they might not be best thing ever.), and I often find myself re-reading AJV cause of how good it is.

Reading your comment, you mentioned that you sorta have planned another Vecpio fic, do you intend for this to be a sequel to AJV or it's own fic? (you don't have to answer this if you don't want to)

And finally one more thing, you mentioned a comic when it came to your adventure fic, and it reminded of this one time where I wondered if someone actually made a AVJ comic (i guess you could say seeing a whole bunch of sonic slash comics could have inspired that). How do you think that'd be?

Thanks for everything! You really do seem like a great person to talk to! And you ship Vecpio, which makes things double better, cause I barely see anymore Vecpio, I have a friend who drew it and wrote fics, but kinda moved onto another fandom.

I do really wanna read them, if you're willing to share! I'm happy you like to reread AJV, sometimes I do the same, but it's more of a thingy where I just overanalyze all of my work and see what I liked and what I can do better.

The other fic would be standalone. I really want to do something more... diverse, let's say. AJV didn't really involve much besides the romance, and thus the world, to me, felt a bit underdeveloped. I think it could be fun to write something with more thought-out mysteries and action, with the romance still a key point. IT's just hard with the majority of the Sonic game-canon cast being goody-two-shoes, and my lack of ability at creating good OCs to drive the plot. But that might change soon. Maybe more characters having importance besides just the Chaotix trio would be nice, too. But I tend to struggle with getting ideas off the ground. I didn't even really plan AJV and that's the cause of most of my problems with it.

I don't know if I understand that question. Do you mean how would an AJV comic be? Or what I planned for the other fic/comic? To my knowledge, there's no AJV-inspired things out there, but I think there was another Vecpio slash that was a comic, so you might be thinking of that. It could definitely be a fun challenge if I could also expand and fix the story along with it.

I am pretty great, I must say I like talking to you too. I'm kind of all over the place these days but I am trying to have nice conversations and actually create stuff instead of mindlessly browsing the net. There don't seem to be any Vecpio folks around nowadays, save for a few die-hard fans. I knew one person I talked to a lot, but she kinda disappeared. I'm also seemingly in the minority among slash writers, being a gay dude instead of a gal, haha.

As for my fics, they aren't on Fanfiction.net, but on a different site called "Fastpencil". I can make it avaiable for you to read, and well... I'm not really sure if it's OOC, but that's up to you to decide. I have also written Smut too (more than once), so if you REALLY wanna read that too, just tell me, and I'll link you to my account where you can read all the Vecpio fics I posted (I have also done humanized! ones, but the problem with those is that they're very OOC on purpose and silly as hell, but again, if you REALLY wanna read them and the others, just say the word).

I think I know where you're coming from. In my fics (or Vecpio headcanons for that matter), the rest of Sonic's friends do find out about their relationship (cause Vector and Espio confess to them), but don't really have a problem with it. Perhaps like, in A Joint Venture, more characters besides Amy and Vanilla could have found out about their relationship? And yeah, that does seem like a good idea for a stand alone Vecpio fic, just finding a normal one is impossible these days, hell, my heart skips when I see a new fic of one of my 5 Sonic OTP's (Vecpio being one of them).

Yeah, I'm really enjoying this conversation! Yeah, Vecpio stuff is barren at this point. Heck, everyday I search for Vecpio in the search bar and hope SOMEONE'S posted something. Yeah I agree with the minority, I'm pansexual myself.

I think, yeah, more characters need to be involved, not just knowing about the relationship (though I really hesitate to include much homophobia, it could be possible with someone like Fang or something. Eggman seems too intellectual to be a bigot; hell, one of the game manuals cited him as a feminist)... Knuckles might be weirded out or slightly uncomfortable, but I figure the rest would support them, unless there was an agenda (such as Vanilla being in love with Vector) involved. Also I'd like the others to have more prominent roles, maybe being part of the mysteries in some way, as unwitting pawns, trying to help, etc.

It's also hard to world-build sometimes - how much do I want to deviate from the game series? I'm not much familiar with the comics, and the real-world elements I include have to feel organic, like where the characters live, what they eat, the type of stuff that isn't addressed really in any media. Writing character interaction is fun, though, especially when you get to have groups of characters who rarely interact in the official media (like Espio and Amy).

I think Vecpio was popular (well, AS popular as it was going to get) around the time before I started posting AJV. Then a couple more popped up from people I knew, then zilch.

Well, the main reason I told is cause some of my fics have some of my headcanons for both the mobian! and humanized! versions. The thing is, while human!Charmy isn't OOC, human!Vector is a somewhat OOC, but human!Espio?

Let me say this, if it offends you, since you did say you are homosexual yourself, please tell me.  

The thing is with human!Espio is that, as a joke, me and my female friend made human!Espio.... a stereotypical flamboyant gay guy. While it was kinda funny at first, we soon started making that like, actually happen in our human! universe (I also wanna mention that there is a limit to how far he goes with the whole flamboyancy, but that's another headcanon). I guess the main reason I like it is cause I imagine some characters having different personalities in my human! universe. Yeah I understand, I don't like homophobia in like, these kind of fics. One of the fics you'll read has a drabble where humanized!vector and espio come across a homophobe who does say some... pretty nasty things. Just a heads up. TBH, I don't imagine Knuckles getting weirded out, I ship Sonuckles so that wouldn't be a problem XD. As for Vanilla, one of my fics mentioned how Vanilla knew that Vector didn't really love her (and I kinda sorta took your idea of the "21st birthday, going out for a drink, confess to Vanilla about Espio" thing. Hope you aren't too mad.), and my headcanon is that after Vector and Espio confess everything to all their friends, Vanilla learns about it through Cream, who congratulates them on their new relationship next time they come over.

Yeah I kinda see where you're coming from. My version of the game universe (besides the characters already appearing in the games) has barely any of the Archie characters (the only two being Scourge and Rotor), and Manic and Sonia from Sonic Underground. And yeah, I like to have characters who don't interact, well, interact. In fact, I headcanon Bean being good friends with Tails, Charmy, Cream, Ray, and Marine, mainly cause he's one of the very few Sonic kids, and not only that, I sometimes feel like he needs a friend.

Ah, was Lizard Boys vecpio related? Main reason I ask this is cause someone on Tumblr known as "vedj-f" (who's a huge Vecpio fan, in fact I think this person said Vecpio was their OTP) who also used to be on here and the official Sega forums (known as "Pur-Rulz" at the time), who like, a year to two years ago, reposted some obscure Vecpio images that not a lot of people had seen or had been deleted by its artist. One of them was actually your "Please say yes" picture (I have this saved in my Vecpio folder, which contains a mix of SFW and NSFW pics. There are like, over 60 of these images in total. I'm a dork XD. Also don't worry, he gave credit.), and like, I have been seriously wondering what the second one was. Hell, I even tried to put your account in the wayback machine to find it (I've done that with some deleted images and fics on this site), but that didn't work. So like, yeah, just curious.

Nah, it's cool. As long as all your gay characters aren't flamboyant, it's not offensive to people. I'll check out your fics when I get some spare time.

I'm not necessarily put off by homophobia in these stories, just I like to focus on less-personally-unpleasant conflicts sometimes.

I haven't thought much about Bark and Bean's characterization. I probably should, since I want to include them in my big story... I kinda thought of them as mooks for Fang, like an anti-Chaotix, like I think they are in the comics at some point. I love Fang, I think he'd be a good partner in crime to Rouge, with her bossing him around a lot. He'd also be a good rival to Vector. Also, I think both of them could be the types who sleep around a lot before settling down.

Blazing Dragons is an old cartoon. It's pretty funny. It's about a bunch of dragons in Arthurian times.

Lizard Boys was vecpio-ish, yeah, I guess. Probably the only other Vecpio thing I drew. I know of that person, actually, though we don't talk. I know the post you mean haha.

Yeah, they were in the comics. Nack, Bark, and Bean were apart of "Team Hooligan", and they're funny as hell XD. In fact, in my version of Mobius, Team Hooligan exists. And yeah, I can see Rouge teaming up with Nack at one point, though I think she probably cut ties with him not long after that. I think in the comics, Bark was Vector's rival, and Nack's was Espio's and Knuckles' during the Great Chaos Caper arc of the Sonic Universe comics.

Is it on Youtube? Perhaps I might search it up once I'm done watching the rest of Yugioh season 0.
