Ok I'm thinking of organising a devmeet during the summer, June/July time. Just a straw poll at the moment. Would anyone be interested in attending?

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

SkyLordDaniel [2017-12-30 23:01:54 +0000 UTC]

Sad that interest has dwindled over the past few years
I use to enjoy attending DevMeets but I suppose that to most that went to meets when I did life has got in the way.
Work
Family
etc

Shame that a younger generation hasn't replaced those of us that have dropped out due to other commitments

Phyonix [2017-08-24 14:16:39 +0000 UTC]

Due to lack of interest, I will NOT be hosting a London devMeet Picnic this year.

Other members of britain can still feel free to host and run their own events, I will even gladly help with any planning.

Thank you for your time,

Phyonix

Haven't been to a devmeet in years. Last one I went to was in Derby in 2010 or 2011. Fun times. What's the activity like on here nowadays? Like how its always been?

Kitsune-157 [2016-05-12 19:55:14 +0000 UTC]

Has there ever been one in Ipswich or Norwich before or anywhere in the Suffolk area really? Would anyone else be interested if there was one? I would!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Phyonix In reply to Kitsune-157 [2016-05-18 22:31:12 +0000 UTC]

Hi there, as far as I'm aware none of our usual planners are in that area, if you would like a meet there the best idea is usually to host one yourself. If you would be interested in doing so, I can assist in the organising

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kitsune-157 In reply to Phyonix [2016-05-30 10:23:47 +0000 UTC]

I'll have to consider that then!

Yeah ^_^ meets are always a lot of fun! I've made some really good friends at both Bristol and London dev-meets.

Fieldie In reply to Twimper [2016-04-29 05:57:31 +0000 UTC]

I live in Lancashire, so it would take me quite a bit to get there ;u; I might have to look for one in Manchester

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Twimper In reply to Fieldie [2016-04-29 06:52:38 +0000 UTC]

hehe yeah. That's a long way to go for a meet! but then it's been done before. We had people from Scotland at official world tour meet

If you wantta to you could always host your own one up there I'd be happy to help ya organise it even if i couldn't get up there to attend it myself.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fieldie In reply to Twimper [2016-04-29 15:52:27 +0000 UTC]

That sounds epic!

I doubt I would be able to organise something o.o I'm terrible at organising anything I might have to wait until one pops up closer ^^'

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Twimper In reply to Fieldie [2016-04-29 16:08:45 +0000 UTC]

yeah that meet was the best meet I've ever been to. It was so cool meeting hidi and the other creators of DA. I ended up fangirling a embarrassing amount!

hehe you'd be surpsed. I'm not the most organised person yet I have organised a load of meets now ^_^ but hopefully now it's the nice weather it comeing we'll have meets poping up all over.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fieldie In reply to Twimper [2016-04-30 09:51:11 +0000 UTC]

You met the creators? That sounds epic :0 What kind of things to you do at a meet? C:

Hopefully ^u^ Might even get one in Manchester or something, that's probably as close as I can get

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Twimper In reply to Fieldie [2016-04-30 15:10:55 +0000 UTC]

yeah XD I kind of made a fool of myself in front of them. But I've got all their signatures hehe. Most at meets you just chill out, chat, make art. Some people do more active meets like going to a zoo or a museum. London meets always end up playing board games at a pub called the judged hare hehe. But yeah it's mostly just hanging out and getting to know other artist. Normally we have food at some point

yeah there have been ones in manchester before. I forgot who organised that one but I am pretty sure there have been some.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fieldie In reply to Twimper [2016-04-30 15:16:00 +0000 UTC]

Aw I bet you didn't ^u^ And getting there signatures is awesome! That sounds really fun as well :0 I'd probably bring a sketchbook and lots of pencils. I think it'd be cool to see how other people draw c:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Twimper In reply to Fieldie [2016-04-30 15:20:45 +0000 UTC]

I accused them of not being real 0_0 i mean to say they seemed like mythical beinging because you always see the names about but never really see them. but i came out all wrong XD

yeah someone brought pro-markers to a meet before and let people try them out. That was really cool, those pens are soooo expensive. and I've done a meet that was specifically for trying out different media which was really fun. Just getting people to try out things they never used before (and got rid of some of the ridiculous amounts of art supplies i had been given for my birthday XD)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Fieldie In reply to Twimper [2016-04-30 15:43:34 +0000 UTC]

Pfft i understand where your coming from XD im sure your fine c:

Wow! I've heard of those, and used them once. I quite like them but I don't think I'd buy them unless i was dedicated totally dedicated to art :0 I have tonnes of art supplies I don't use so if I ever do get to go, I'll have to do something like that

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Twimper In reply to Fieldie [2016-05-01 13:41:56 +0000 UTC]

hehe yeah. Just kind of came out wrong.

yeah they are really good pens! and gosh i still have a million and one art supplies. Maybe i should do anther try new media meet.

Hello! Please consider helping me if you can! Thank you

Looking for a flat/house in LondonHello guys! I am about to move soon. I would really like your help! Do you know any sites except Gumtree that I could look for houses and flats in the UK - London?
To be more specific:
I'm looking for a house close to Elephant and Castle - which means area SE1 and maybe in areas SE16, SE11 and SE17. Then, if I get too desperate - I will look at area E1
Also I will be sharing the flat with my roommate, and our maximum budget is 800 pounds per month (both). So we may share the room, but need two single beds in the room.
So if you know anything, please send it to me guys! I want to move in September so I must find the house/flat and book it in advance.
Thank you
and have a nice day

Average Elephant and Castle rent is £665 per week, might want to look further away and commute

yes there is, all the info about it is in this journal post:
The DevMeet Picnic 18th July 2015Thanks to Narfmaster  for the pic
It is that time of year again, time for the annual DevMeet Picnic
This will be the 6th year this picnic has run and like the previous years, I hope that this one will be a big success.
So here's all the info you may need; (Most of these points are for newcomers or are based on previously asked questions. if you are a regular, just read the points that apply to you)
Whats the plan?
We will be meeting at either Albert Memorial in Hyde Park at 12'oclock. From there we shall head into the park itself and set us base for the picnic. For the picnic itself, each attendee should bring along an item of picnic food to share. If each person brings something along, there will be more then enough for everyone.
Where is the Albert Memorial and how do I get to it
The memorial is to the south of Hyde Park, opposite the Royal Albert Hall. Here is what it looks like --> upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia… and here is a
