OMG SHAUN WHITE EMEGANCY JAPAN PROJECT
Hi all, this idea was originally started as an art book for a toy design. However, we decided to help Japanese relief efforts. 90% of the proceeds will go to a fund to help Japan. The other 10% will go to fees and taxes. Since Shaun White is a huge supporter of Japan, it just seems befitting to put the two together. We all want to help but don’t really know how. Even if money is short in these times we can all help out different places and people in many other ways. For this case all you have to do is draw. It’s free to enter, all styles welcomed and you’re doing something good with the art. PLUS it’s another portfolio piece and people from all over with get to enjoy your work while enjoy the fact they did something good as well.

Hey, Toffie, I'm making some things online about the kook subculture (a subculture I devised; you may have read some stuff I posted about it). I want to reference you in a Questions and Answers section I am writing. I will refer to you as "L.M. Strange, the psychedelic kook artist". How is your music doing? I was curious to see how you record your stuff- My band and I are probibaly going to start doing that pretty soon. And I'd love for some tips.

Well, my music's sort of come to a slow halt right now. I'm not worried, though, because it always tends to do that over the summer, and, plus, since I'm going to a new school that has a lot of musicians, I'm thinking I'll probably get myself into another band that'll satisfy my need to collaborate musically with people until the Pink Nightmare (the band I'm going to be in with two of my friends) gets off the ground. Well, what sort of computer do you use? Is it a Mac? Because, if it is, it most likely came with a program called GarageBand, which is what I use. If you don't have that (and if you haven't a Mac, it's not worth buying because it doesn't work on other computers), then there's a program called Audacity which can be downloaded for free online. I've tried it, but I'm more comfortable using GarageBand.

Aww. Usually mine tends to Shoot up over the summer- My friends and I started a band and we're called "Contradiction". I'm the lead guitarist (and Ukulele), my friend Jeremy is on Rythm guitar (and Mandolin), our friend Amanda on Bass, our friend Casady on Vocals, and Haka on drums. We're slowly getting better. We do mainly covers and such, but i'm trying to make some on my own.
I'm not sure if it's a mac or PC. I have Windows 6 or somthing.
I'll try Audacity and see how it works. What kind of mic or recording equipment do you have?

Contradiction, that's a very good name for a band. Ukulele and mandolin in the same band! That's pretty darn cool. Well, look at it this way - if you continue to play, you're almost certainly going to get better. Mm, covers are a good place to start. It's where one of the bands I was in started. (Of course, we never got any further than covers because, well, it sort of disintegrated and then the bassist, aka myself, sort of unofficially quit and there's no more band anymore. But hopefully that's not what's going to happen to your band!)
Hmm, I'm not very well-versed in computers, but I believe that if it's a Windows anything, it's a PC.
I actually use the microphone built into the computer. (Macs come with one, you see. Could have something to do with how they also come with GarageBand.) I know nothing of taking recording equipment and plugging it into the computer or however you do it, I'm afraid.
