hey! i was reading a bulliten and i saw that you know how to speak japanese...how much of it do you know? i just started learning out of that "japanese for dummies" but it doesnt seem to be helping much.....do you know of any other books that might help?

Sure, I started just last year. The college Japanese series "Nakama" is really helpful for me.

If I were you, though, I would just start off by memorizing the hiragana and katakana, because then you can make a lot more sense of the language. You can find those charts anywhere - even over the Internet.
