Hello, I've been in this group for awhile, and I've always taken a fascination towards BJDs and I've finally got a job so I can get a doll myself. But, I don't know what to buy and how they work on a owners level. It'll be awhile til I can get a doll, but I'd love to know what I should get, and how they work. If someone could help me. I'd be completely grateful.

Hi,
You have photostories as a medium for telling stories about BJDs. I was wondering how the group stands with the medium of visual novels? I've written a visual novel featuring my dolls (but the visuals are paintings done from photos I took, since I want blinking eyes and moving mouths).

You could definitely submit something like that in Creative works, since that folder includes drawings and photomanipulations of BJDs. I'll have to ask other mods for their opinions as things like these are decided on a case by case basis, but you can try to submit it into Photostories as well.

I don't understand why my photo was rejected when I never broke any of the rules that you have listed.

I'm going to confirm what toshiro-sthlm is saying--the submission request appeared twice in our inbox. When this happens, we accept the photo for one copy of the submission and decline for the other because otherwise it creates an error and tells us that the submission is already in the gallery. I'm not sure if it shows you that you have submitted twice, in which case it might have shown you the declined submission rather than the accepted one. If you look at the side of the photo, you can see under "Feature in Groups" that it has been added to our gallery.
In the future, please try to comment on the submission process rather than the main page so that it's easier (and quicker) to respond to your question since we'll know which photo you're asking about. :3

Here is a list of various BJD companies; there are also dealers like Think Pink , Mint on Card and Angelesque if you aren't comfortable buying directly from a company.

helloo
I have a question about a specific sculpt of BJD but have no idea what it is called, or where it could be found. I stumbled across this photo online and I would love to know if anyone knew what model (sculpt) the BJD to the left is?-->Β sta.sh/02dkh0yatfmj
I'd really really appreciate it, Thank you.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew about dreamhigh studios. I was interested in buying one of their micro 5cm dolls (so cute), but they are very expensive. So the only way I could think of getting one would be to bribe my parents with it being the only thing I get for Christmas. I want to get this as my first BJD, and my parents don't get the doll hobby and my mother is quite frankly against it. Aside from that, I was really wondering if the dolls were limited editions. I would have to order very soon I imagine of they were limited, and I would die if I had to put that away for more than half of a year ;_;
In short: are dreamhigh studio micro 5cm bjds limited edition?

Loolooz [2013-05-08 16:38:27 +0000 UTC]
I submited 2 pics and one was declined because "its TOO similar to the other" which is not true, the pics were totally different, only the doll was the same. :/

Morbid-Delusions In reply to Loolooz [2013-05-08 20:33:11 +0000 UTC]
What is meant by too similar is that they are from the same shoot.
If you want people to go look at the other I suggest you add a thumbnail or a link to the picture
submitted to this group in your comments below the picture.

Please read the rules about arguing your case:
"You are welcome to argue your case if you feel your submission was declined unfairly. If you would like to do so, please submit an explaination in the comment section of your resubmission. If your submission is declined twice, the decision is final."

Anyone can?... then why do they not accept them? do you not like them?
π: 0 β©: 1
Morbid-Delusions In reply to emilymae1992 [2013-05-01 08:36:07 +0000 UTC]
Perhaps they don't live up yo our quality standards? If it's too grainy/blurry/out of focus/too dark to make out things it will be declined.
so it has nothing to do with us not liking it, it's purely quality related reasons.

I'm sure there is a reason if they are not accepted. Please read the submission policies thoroughly to make sure your submissions follow the rules. If a submission is declined, feel free to ask why (about that specific piece, not about all of them in general as we cannot possibly remember everyone's submissions) and we will explain our decision.
