very possible, i just thought I'd let you know, my dad has had a similar encounter, but whn he was 16, it never bothered him, he only saw it once but it fit the description of yours, white, older, smiling ... creppy O.o

well, my grandfather dies about 3 yrs ago and after that a can moved across the table on it's own, there was no windows or doors open plus it was a still day and the can was 3/4 full and the same thing happened with a cigarrette lighter. Then about 6 months ago in my old house a plant moved during the night same scenario as the can. Also I used to have this scooby doo toy that senses things, and I have a 1 yr old sister so i put batteries in it and gave it to her. We went to bed and forgot to turn it off and it went off on its own, and it only goes off if you walk by it or something. Then the lastly 2 months ago at 2am exactly a picture frame fell off the wall, but the wire wasn;t broken nor was the bit it hangs on. Really spooky, especially since I'm quite fond of the horror movies O.o
