heyy, me and a friend found your old scratch account and were investigating the possible mysteries behind it. It was fun going through all your projects and looking at all the twisted creations from your mind, well done!! I love your art! Its so messed up and dark and just begs the question whyΒ to my head. Sorry to hear about your social anxiety with college. I too have social anxiety and can completely relate to your social problems.

to clarify, i'm not in college. the reason i didn't even last a year was mostly because of crippling social anxiety, but if i could talk to past me there are some things i would want to tell him that i'm assuming is the kind of advice you're asking for.
first off, in terms of having a career in the arts, a college degree is helpful, but not at all necessary. all a college degree shows is that you can work hard enough to earn a college degree. not to diminish the amount of effort it takes or the amount you will inevitably learn doing that, but there are other ways to get a job in art. qualifications will help, but a good portfolio is more important.
second, college is not the only place to continue a formal art education. studio art classes exist, are much cheaper than full years of college, and only teach what you sign up for. or, for even less money, get the rescources to teach yourself and do it for free through months of disciplined practice. classes are good for setting up a structure and keeping you on track, but if you can do that by yourself, by all means do.
in the meantime, college or not, get a job. worst case scenario is it's a mind numbing unskilled labor job, but you now at least have some more money to pay towards the "not starving to death" fund and something to put on a potential resume. there's some les claypool story of his dad telling him that playing the bass is great and all but to learn a trade. he had like five different kinds of jobs but kept playing the bass anyway.
honestly the largest real obstacle that normal, well-adjusted people (read: not me) have with college is money. college is fucking expensive and i guess most of what i've written at this point can be boiled down to the idea that if you don't think you can pay for art college, or just don't really want to go to art college for any other completely valid reason, that there are other options. assuming, of course, that this is what you were asking about in the first place.
as a final thought, it's important to note that i have failed in following almost any of this advice. it's the kind of goal i strive for, but having the right goals doesn't make them come true.

thanks so much for the reply boi, i always have looked up to you. it truly is a struggle considering college--even my mom suggests that college isnt worth the monetary investment. the discipline college provides seems nice but there always is that unnerving feeling that in this day and age i can achieve the same if not more outside of college... its weird, because its like i know i want to pursue art but i cant see myself pining for a job in an art related industry? its like id rather be...a librarian, or something basic to support an independent art career. but ive also started thinking of this idea...that if i bit the bullet and really did go to college i should study something like science or computers as a means to support my art career in some abstract undefined way. BUT NOW ITS JUST LIKE AFTER YEARS OF TREATING MY ATTENDANCE AND GPA AND SAT AND ALL THIS SHIT AS AN AFTERTHOUGHT IT'S ALL COME BACK TO BITE ME IN THE ASSHOLE HOLY SHIT. ugh...it's so difficult to know what to do with this young fragile life!!!!! well anyways, thanks again and good luck to you boi. im always yearning to see more of your work. always!!!

actually if you go to a community college for a year and work real hard and do real well you can then use those grades to apply to another college instead of your butt high school grades. one of the art colleges i applied to said that since my gpa was also not-great they wanted me to do pretty much this and then apply again and then i'd probably get in because my portfolio was pretty good. so hey that's an option too i guess.
