I just wanted to say that your DA inspired me. In a weird sort of way. I draw (though I do not have anything on my DA, I never finish anything) and my favorite part about movies are the costumes.. I love to design clothing and armor but I can't sew. I'm now absolutely convinced that it's possible for me to learn and try and It's been a dream of mine for some time, but I always felt like It wasn't possible.
But reading about how you did the shoes for Sailor Jupiter (I do other crafty things, lots of painting and holiday wreaths/ect) and seeing your first sewing project made me feel like I could do this.
It'll be some time before I can afford a machine and such but I felt like I had to say this.
Thank you for posting your stuff.

This question is completely out of nowhere, but where did you get your username?

Hmm... well it was the name of a character from a fanfiction story I wrote about ten years ago.... I don't really remember specifically how I came up with the name at the time.

Ah. I remembered the name from a book and thought it could have been related. Must be a coincidence.

I must ask. Is your icon Anne of Cleves? It looks like her miniature.

Thank you! That's tricky though, perhaps you could be more specific with your question? For starters I didn't use a commercial pattern for the shirt, although I saw a few that might have worked ultimately I made my own pattern.
For the fabric pattern, I made a stamp of the swirl. Using a blown up picture of a swirl from a Kay picture and carbon paper I transfered the shape onto a block of linoleum, used for block printing. I then stamped the pattern onto the pink fabric using white fabric paint, and then very carefully went over each swirl using a paintbrush two-three times. I wanted it to look as vibrant as possible, hence the number of coats.
I did all this prior to assembling the actual shirt. Well... vest. My shirt is actually a shirt and a vest, I find it lets the garment move better, but it's a personal preference.
