Look, i managed to get a lot of money with publicity and Marketing, and i want to bring Petgamer back because it was the only website i really liked, i can get a hosting and a domain, with unlimited bandwidth and unlimited size, i can also get a sponsor that will put additional money to whatever we need.
The reason i'm sending you this e-mail is because i want you to be the leader of this project, as you used to be years ago. Website marketing has rised a lot over the past few years, we can even get money from this, and there is also a lot of businessman interested in the project.
I want to know if you would be interested in reviving Petgamer. Once i have your confirmation, the server will be paid for an ammount of time of 5 years, and once we have the site rebuilt, the site shall live forever!

Basically what happened is the owner never fixed the issues with the individual who got admin passwords (in fact he never did bother to try to fix it and seemed oblivious to it), so it appears he just gave it up - left the site domain to expire.
He claimed I could bring it back but this is a lie. Not only do I not have all the scripts, but I certainly did not keep a backup of the database - which means we lost user information and even if I had all the site scripts the game would have had to be reset :-\

*sigh*. that sux. I loved PG..cuz it was smaller than all those other pet sites. like neopets and stuff..and it was more organized. and everyone new everybody else.
