I do really like Ouran haha. It's definitely one of my favorite animes to date. At the moment I'm a bit hesitant to take requests (especially free ones). Life is still pretty hectic, and I've just come back from a long hiatus on DA. Still trying to ease myself back into the site by dumping a bunch of art I haven't bothered to upload in months lol.Β

You kind of inspired me to look back and review Mark crilley's tutorials because I want to be a graphic novel designer/illustrator and I really love to draw. Thank you! Hi I saw your copic marker tutorial, and I was hoping you could answer these questions.
1- Don't the markers get stained with other colors when blending?
2- Why would they make the blending marker so stainable so it can't be used for another color? (may not be able to answer this one)
3- Are there any cheaper brands of inking pens/markers?
4- Are copic markers and these kinds of supplies sold commonly?
5- What are the differences between different kinds of copic markers? (as in the different types like the black circular ones and the ones you have)

Depending on where you buy the copic markers they can be fairly spendy. Because they are refillable they can cost anywhere from $6.00 to $12.00. It really depends on where you shop. I typically buy mine at a store for about $8.00, with the refills priced around $7.00. I'd recommend looking around at different stores to make sure that you get the best price possible for your markers :3

No problem, I have a few questions, if you don't mind.
1. Where did you get your copic/prisma markers?, I just like how they bleed so well unto drawings and paper, Plus they're good for manga making.
2. How did you come up with the plot for your comic?
3. How did you come up with Koreana's appearence?, i'm having trouble coming up with an appearence for my own character ;^^

hey I like helping when I can! ^_^
1. I got my copic/prisma markers at a locally owned art store called Art Department, but you can also order them through catalogs. Also, various other art stores carry them. Now the prismacolor manga marker set idk if it's still in circulation so you may need to special order them at an art store close to where you are (they were about $25). Copics can run anywhere from about $6.99-about $12 a marker. They may be pricey but they're SO worth it because they are refillable,and professional artists actually use copics. I may actually do a Youtube tutorial on how to use comic markers properly.
2. I've been writing a fanfic (been neglecting to write in it for a while lol) comnposed of ideas my sister and I have come up with. Now pertaining to panel layout I usually do the whole thing in pencil to make sure that the panels are diverse and easy to read out. (I would highly suggest reading some how to draw manga books if you want more info on composing a comic strip.)
3. Actually I based Koreana a lot after Soul XDDD I really liked Soul's face and so I kinda incorporated that concept into my own character so that her personality would be well matched with her appearance. I would say pick a character that you really like in the show (whether it be Maka, Crona, Tsubaki, Stein, ect.) and just practice that face. From there you can add your own defining touches so that your character becomes your own rather than a clone of the character you base off of. Does that help?
