He always got stuck in my head, well his name did anyway, but I had him confused with some other character i haven't read a Redwall book in years!

Ah well Balefur was lured into a snake pit after Nightshade promised he and her would be partners against Swartt Sixclaw, she told him there was treasure down in the pit. But all he found was a bunch of adders.

I don't think you confused him because Balefur was described as a huge fox that carried an axe not unlike the one you gave him. So I think you got pretty close.

Yeah but he was only in the book for a short time and didn't even count as a rival for Swartt because of how quickly he was gotten rid of.

I had him confused with Ruggan Bor in terms of which character he was...so many foxes with axes flying around lol
