atleast you applied... i was going to head to the fitzroy (or somwhere) town hall heat... then in a fit of apathy lost motivation... thats funny my mother tells me "tom people only want to read happy poems"... i genuinely dont value her opinion though. sorry about the elipses.. its bad habit i have when writing people notes online... write a depression poem... then show it to someone... then youll depression embarassment and depending on who they are misunderstanding.

I instantly saw it as a single person, but after several hours agonizing over how it might be a couple kissing, here's my best guess...
Your MSN buddies must think that the scarf is someone else's arm, wrapped around the neck of the protagonist! (whose back is to the viewer). And the light side of the face is the other person's face, half-hidden.
