In many places in the western world, gay marriage isn't legal. It is legal, even in some states in america, to not hire someone due to them being trans. Trans people are not allowed to join the military because they are trans. Trump wanted/wants to push a bill that rewrites the law for sex discrimination - meaning that it would be legal to discriminate against them in public spaces. The average life span for a trans person is only 30, due to the amount of people killing and bullying us.
Where I live, hate crimes done in transphobia are not seen as hate crimes - just a crime. There is barely anything to protect transgender people.
Show me where this is happening to cis and straight people in the real world.

Also, slurs don't make you look cool. Nor does ignoring my comments where I ask people to respond to instead of making a new comment - like you did.

I was going to respond to this fully in the morning but holy shit. I'll do it now.

1. Just because something is illegal in the US (not even in all the states, I believe) doesn't mean people don't do it. It's required to make a place accessible for wheelchairs yet many places are not. Illegal =/= never happens.

2. Tell an 11 year old rape victim who is pregnant with her rapist's child that. You'll say "I wasn't talking about them!!" but it's them you affect with your beliefs.

4. I didn't know America was the entirity of the west!! I guess Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Belarus, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Greece, Italy, Turkey, Monaco and Northern Ireland aren't in the West!! Those are european countires where gay marriage is not legal or recognised. I think I win this round.

5. If someone assaults me or murders me BECAUSE I am transgender, I think that's a crucial part to a case. Currently, it would be counted as assault or attempted homocide - probably without a cause. There is a cause, and that deserves to be recognised. It's important for the investigation and can be the difference between getting justice or not.

6. The average life span is 30 years due to murder statistics, is that not horrifying to you? Yes, the main victims are black trans women - that doesn't mean NO OTHER TRANS PERSON GETS KILLED. There have been cases of white trans women and trans men being murdered for being trans. Try again.
About 1/2 transgender people (esp students) are bullied, and thers are few resources to help them. I have to go to another country to get medical help. Almost half of all trans people attempt suicide at some point, main causes being bullying, discrimination and lack of support.

7. You asked for examples in the western world, I gave you examples. No shit it's worse in some places, but just because it's worse somewhere else doesn't mean it doesn't ecist where you or I am. The only argument you have is saying "YOU'RE WRONG" and making me out to seem like a crazy wannabe oppressed snowflake - when I'm really not.

8. If you think it's okay to call someone slurs or purposely disrepect them over an obvious joke stamp - you're gonna be surprised when you try that shit in real life. Not everyone is going to be as nice when you throw around slurs. Just a warning kid.

Realise that America isn't the only place in the world, and that being like this ain't gonna help you in the future.

I never said gay marriage wasn't legal in America, but in other Western countires. I didn't even get the murder rate from an article, it's a well know fact in the trans community so you're wrong there.
If someone kills themselves bc they developed depression from bullying, due you believe you killed themselves ONLY bc of depression and not the bullying that caused it? If you say yes, then you need to look into Psychology.

You care more about an undevelopef clump of cells at 3 weeks than an 11 year old girl. You can have that opinion, don't force it onto other people though.

That's the whole point of classifing it as a hate crime. Many crimes have been done without a good reason. They would care about the assault, not the transphobia behind it. I should know, I live in a country where this is the case.
