this only can be done if you have just an sktch/ lineart (as in your picture should NOT be coloured for the effect to work better)
so make a new layer. idk if you know about the Mode button yet. if you dont, it is found at your left. you will see this "Mode" button. Click it and click on Overlay.

Now, you take a colour and like draw on your canvas owo...

Actually, I do understand that your style meant to be cartoony, and that this is what you like drawing. I have no objection with that. I am not trying to criticise you. I am merely making a suggestion! With very, very good intentions!

My point is that cartoons do need a good understanding on anatomy, too. Most, if not all famous cartoonists have a solid background of realism/draw it as you see it behind them. In most studios, illustrators/animators/cartoonists must first bring a strong realistic portfolio, before they can be accepted, did you know?

If you take some of the best artists in dA, you will see that what happens commonly is that they start off drawing mediocre anime-style pictures, then they start studying realism/figure drawings/prespective/shading, and then they return to their cartoony style, only they now know how to shade, how to use different angles, how to draw muscles/bone structures, and so on, so their new cartoony style is x100 better.

So my position is that in order to master whatever style you choose, working on your general technique as an artist is important. Otherwise, you are going to remain stationary and draw the same kind of thing over and over again, with little improvement. Since you have a lot imagination, and you seem to love drawing, it would be a shame.
