yeah if you draw everyday, youl be a pro before ya know it take on big projects to, things you think you 'can't' do, and just go for it, i found it's the quickest way to improve.

thats a great shout man, sometimes I feel like I'm taking on all of my flaws and not stepping toward what I really want to do, I want to do huge epic scale paintings with weird and wonderful characters in them, do you work digitally at all man? I was wondering if you have a recommendation for digital software?

Wow sounds like you got some big things planned!, i want to learn how to paint, it's something i haven't had much practice in, are you good at painting then? maybe you could give me a few tips sometime?

And no, unfortunately I can't to digital art :/ tbh it doesn't really interest me, I only use Photoshop CS2 to try and adjust the contrasts i lost from my scanner, but i use it to change my reference photo's black and white to, so i can see the tones better!

I wouldn't say I'm a master at painting but I can paint pretty well, my best advice would be to try all three types of paint (water colour, acrylic and oil) on various surfaces and see which you are most comfortable with, after that it's all about practicing those tones like you achieved in your other work, so I'd say try painting some boring stuff first like fruit, just so you can understand how it is applied to the shapes and areas etc.

That's a shame dude, digital art is really fun when you start to get a grip of it, it's like learning to draw from scratch again, but when you get more and more proficient the benefits are endless. I mean, imagine how much money you could spend on paint,when you use a graphics tablet and computer set up, your materials are almost unlimited!
I'd recommend you give it a try sometime anyway, you could surprise yourself even!

Thanks alot man! i have tried acrylic before and thats it but i will take ur advice and try them all, because tbh there is a few things i would like to make in paint but i have always been scared of it aha, i think i will try a painting very soon, it wont be nothing special just my first 'real' attempt, but if im ever unsure, at least i have a friend i can ask now!

I may try some digital art some time, but for now im hooked on traditional media. I find digital art much harder than traditional, but maybe thats because i havent really tried it, i deffo will sometime, but for now im going to try painting! .........

The best tip I can give, is don't be intimidated by paint, think of it as the same as a pencil that you need to keep topping up, and be confident, and a little crazy with your stuff, even in a mess paint can look great,
let me know when you get something done man, and I'll give you some tips

I have tried a few paintings before in the past, I could show you them by uploading to my stash if you like? there pretty old though, I personally find it very different to pencil drawing lol much much harder! aha I'm used to drawing from dark to light, but with paint you should go light to dark right? for best results?

Hmm well there is a big painting I would like to do sometime, i really want to make this artwork, but i feel that it wont look right in pencil or coloured pencil :/ so i think paint is the only way to go

yeah, I do things the other way around, I go from light to dark, its just a matter of your comfort zone and the style you want to achieve from painting, I mean you can make something hyper realistic, OR something on the lines of impressionism, and both look awesome, so you basically just need to find your feet really

I want to push for that epic piece sometime this week maybe even today if I get the time,
sucks having to work and stuff on the side of your art.. I'd rather just get paid for my art and make a living from that
