Highly recommend it, and the first two books are free atm on Google Books  On Basilisk Station and In Honor of the Queen.  The chemistry between your Star Trek OC's and the characters in the book have familiar feel to it.  The book series is very much a science fiction Horatio Hornblower, but with a female strong lead.  I think you might like them.
