the tablet is a blessing, it's kinda like your best friend if you're doing digital XD. Although there are tablets just so you can easily draw in the computer(like a bamboo tablet )it's still better having a tablet that has a screen, it makes it easier to see where i'm pointing at. I never would have gotten better at doing this without my tablet-chan ^^. The only thing i wish is having a full time artist job, ugh, i really can't leave my dayjob until i make a stable art career. I'm jelly of you T.T

what kind of a tablet do you have? i have an wacom intusos 4 and it isn't too bad. yeah, the ones with the screens are easier to use, i used a cintiq at school and it was like heaven. lol yeah having your own tablet makes a difference XD i know your feels, Β i hope i can get a stable full time artist career after school and i really don't want to be doing caricatures all my life -___-

Yea don't settle in for that XD, either aim for an animation job or illustrator/concept designer. they're really big in our industry. I'm aiming for Animation, going in to college next year, ugh, so long , i feel like i wanna castrate myself XD..oh well, at least i'll have some ample time to horde all the money i can before going pure studying n stuff.
I use a Cintiq 12 ux btw. He's ma' homie. He's like my wingman...except he's not winging me for girls , sad i know. XD

The animation program is supposed to be one of the best there & it's crazy competitive so if you get in, totally go for it! I hear Seneca has a good program too (& it's cheaper). I'm taking illustration at Sheridan & I have a few friends in the animation proh

*gasp! ... lol okay don't mind if i ask then hue hue hue. So uhh, i'm kinda struggling just by entering the course , --to be honest i haven't even entered the school premises(personal reasons..lol). I've heard that you need to enter Art fundamentals first before you go to animation. I wanted to go straight to animation. So i was thinking of contacting a counsellor, Convince him or her to grant me the thingy for animation..is that even possible?Β

First things first, you don't need to go through fundies (art fundamentals). Plenty of people get in without going through fundies and some get in straight out of high school. Many people apply for fundies as well as animation so that way if they don't get in, they take the fundies class to build their skills and get to know Sheridan so they can apply the following year (though that also doesn't mean they'll get accepted either; the profs don't really care where you come from, just about your skills and if you'll be a match for the program). Fundies isn't mandatory in any way and depending on who you ask they'll either say it's a waste of time and money or beneficial. It's not really for everyone.
I don't know about contacting a counselor. You might have better luck talking to a prof cos they are the ones assessing the portfolios, but I wouldn't count on swaying their opinions. However, it wouldn't hurt to try if your put on the waiting list.
If you're gonna be applying for next year, I recommend you go to the portfolio review day. I think it's some time in the fall or winter and you get a chance to meet with a prof one-on-one and they'll assess your portfolio on the spot and get a chance to tell you what's working and what isn't so you have something better for the spring.

P-P-Portfolio Review day?! HUZAAH! that's something that looks like what i need. Just me and the Prof face to face, artist to artist, Man to Man, Bro to Bro, NOICE!... i tried searching when it'll happen, but i just asked their tumblr page, aand it looks like they do have something like that..lol, anyways hope they'll answer.
And this is VERY helpful, i've mostly asked all my buddies who go to sheridan about this but they never mentioned a portfolio assessment day thingy, they just told me "GO TO ART FUNDAMENTALS!,BITCH!", and i'm like "FAAAYN!". So you gave me something good. Thank you so much.
