# About me
20 • French • Drawing - Music - Gaming • Litterature - Linguistics - Computer Sciences studentThis is my adopt account. I have a main one but i'm hardly even active on the other one so you don't need to have it ! :p
I'm always looking to improve my art so CRITICS (yeah, even bad ones) are really welcome. Also don't be affraid to ask me about collabs, i try to do a lot of them to improve and change my style :) If i'm not too busy, i'll probably say yes !
Also you can try and talk to me. I'm busy between studies and work but i can find time to discuss and i like it ! :p
I'm on :
Lol - Dota - Heroes of the Storm - Hearthstone - Imvu - Gaia - TF2 - Tekken and some other PS3/Wii games.
These are also my main sources of inspiration (tho it might not look so).
You can invite me to play ! :D
I'm also always open to take commission. But i don't have a widget for that since every request is unique. Just look at the price of my adopts, if you ask a commission or custom in the same style it will probably be the same price ! :)
Carele drawing by kasscabelx and icon by TomatoGyoza They are awesome :)

Wow i didn't realized you changed name. Your art has gotten even more awesome than before kuddos on keeping it up. I'm so glad you could progress that much.
As for me I'm working in data science in London. Still 2 months to go and after that I don't know where I'm going to live. Everything is fine but i have no set up to draw at home so I only doodle on my notebooks
Thanks for the birthday wishes <3

Wow!! That's amazing, congratulations! You returned the tablet? Do you think you'll get something else? I miss seeing your cute art.
People had trouble pronouncing Lailyu so I changed to something more catchy and easier to read. Thank you! I still wish I drew more this year and were more consistent with my style

I didn't return the tablet pc but i only use it as a computer now... Too frustrating to draw on. I still have my old wacom which is great but i need time and space to draw with it, and i have neither in my flatshare in London.
I'm back in paris in july. I'll be at my parent's gor a while so i don't know how free I'll be but i sure hope to draw again at that time.
I understand your struggle with the nickname... Mine is Deanna on MMOs but no one can pronounce it 😂
And yes ofc we all wish we would draw more but i think what you're doing is great. It's normal that your style shifts as you progress, the more you try, the easier it will be when you'll have to settle for one plus you'll be able to adapt to different types of themes!

Ooof I know the struggle of living in a tiny-ass apartment, the only free spot to work and draw is the bed. I hope too!
It must be great though to have a name unique enough that it's available in most games.
I'm not sure I'm progressing much, I feel like I'm going in circles. I went from a painty style to lineart to anime style and now I want to go back to painting

Ahah no sadly Deanna is taken in most games. Carele i can get quite often though, that's cool. I invented that name with that exact purpose in mind : simple and available ahah.
I can tell you progressed, you did not go in circle. And don't worry, you can go back to painting, what you learnt in the others styles will benefit you on that one as well

Do you want to make an Adopt Trade with me?
Journal
or
do you want to make an OC for one of my groups?

Hey. Thanks, it means a lot to me.
I would say yes, but i am really unreliable these days because i have a job and school to attend at the same time. Sometimes i just go black for months and i haven't completed some of my art trades/collabs.
So i do not engage in art trades or such.
However, i have thought about what i told your last time and i will be holding a raffle/contest batch soon (probably : 1 raffle, 1 DTA and 1 OTA). I hope you would be interesting in joining.
If i have some free time soon, i'll consider making an OC for one of your group (Café de la Grace reminds me so much of one of my favourite places in paris ! ).

How odd. I have a coworker, A bachelor of computer science, Whose main interest is Linguistics, He once mentioned he had a French friend who had the same interests. Coincidence?

Depends if i met him on DA or LoL. Else the possibility is quite thin since i don't have many iranian friends.
However you are right that linguistic and computer science, coupled, are not so common !

Oh I'm only interested in Linguistics, That's how I found Guidifier (Or "Sasan", His name). Computer science, Or any other fields of science that include a lot of math, is a huge red flag for me. And yes, I'm aware that some fields of linguistics are mathematical, But I don't care!

PenciLollipop In reply to Argabides [2016-10-04 14:26:06 +0000 UTC]
AHAHAHAH.
Maths ? I hate them too don't worry !
I have a litterature A level and i thought that programming was definitely off limits for me (too bad because i was interested in press at that time, and this is a field that has a lot of progress to do digitally).
Turned out that i tried the tests for a pure IT school (not so much computer science as programming, actually) and i succeeded hands down. In the end you don't have to do maths to do IT (it is certainly a good way to do it, but there are other ways !).
I never learned the mathematics of computer science but i have a totally different approach. I can abstract it without numbers. And this is something philosophers (and linguists, like you and me) are good at ! I'm pretty sure you could solve some hard programming excercises just because you have the necessary abstraction to see it like the best programmers do. The difference is that they do that through numbers, while you probably learned it from litterature, philosophy or humanity in general.

I'm about as good at math as a shark is at hunting bees!
Maybe you're right! I never gave programming a chance, And you're the expert here! I just asked some people about it (Your friend very much included), And decided it's definitely not for me.
I have an A-level in literature too (Here we call it "Humanitarian A level"), And I love it!

PenciLollipop In reply to Argabides [2016-10-14 12:16:44 +0000 UTC]
Hey, what is your A-level for sociologie name then ? We have 2 different ones for litterature and sociologie. But both are humanities...
About programming, if you ever have free time you can give a shot a programming games. There are a lot that gives you the keys of programming through puzzle etc. It's a funny way to learn (and you don't have as much ressources for linguistic games T.T).
I just bought my 14y/o cousin a book "Learning programming in Python throuh minecraft" (explaining how to code plugins for the game. I find it an incredibly motivating way to learn
I just hope the "from 10years old" disclaimer won't turn him down cause you know "it's for babies!" xD i would definitely give that book to any of my young adult gamer friends willing to start coding.

Well, In our education system, You have 3 options for your A level:
1. Mathematical science: Engineering, Math, Physics, And anything related to those.
2. Empirical science: Anything related to chemistry and biology.
3. Humanitarian science.
Sociology, Along with political science, History, Literature, And several other fields of science are all packed together in the third group.
Don't badmouth the "For babies" group, Those are usually the easiest way to pick up on new things! I asked our mutual friend for some books, He sent me some books about programming for Linguistics, I'm lost as hell!

PenciLollipop In reply to Argabides [2016-10-17 08:44:44 +0000 UTC]
Oh that's funny. Here we have also 3 choice but :
1 is a group of your 1 and 2 that's "scientific studies" with math AND empirical sciences.
2 is sociology and economy (and political sciences)
3 is litterary
Yours make more sense, really xD
And for the books "for babies" i love them too. It's just that when a teenager gets a book "for children" they usually throw it away !
Good luck with yours

That's odd, I was always told our educational system was taken from France!
Now what was that about not judging a book by its cover?!
Thank you! I'll be needing lots of luck to finish "Natural language processing"!

PenciLollipop In reply to Argabides [2016-10-19 14:55:12 +0000 UTC]
If you took from it, you probably understood it better than the guys we have up there and you adapted it better. Rofl
It's funny, they published some of the source code of the algorithm that determines which student can go to which school and the code is totally fcked up (bad programming). Man... That's the whole life of these student determined by a bad written code that may not be fair ...

Argabides In reply to PenciLollipop [2016-10-19 18:34:44 +0000 UTC]
I checked again, Apparently, They founded the education system by French standards, But it's been revamped several times to resemble the Swedish, And the American system. But frankly, I don't care who designed the system, All I care about is one thing: It's a terrible system.
They actually decide the fate of human beings by some algorithm on a lifeless computer? Not only that, They actually used fucked up programming?! No one in my country can ever complain again, Not to me!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
PenciLollipop In reply to Argabides [2016-10-20 11:42:11 +0000 UTC]
Swedish system is one of the best i know about!
Why is yours terrible ?
Actually, when we apply for a school we enter our wishes in a program. That program will then try to attribute the best school for everyone according to their level and wishes (you put like 20 wishes in preference order). When there is not enough space for everyone, it's random XD
This system is only for public schools tho. Private ones use the old school exams and interview system.
But yeah, that's depressing to see that this algorithm isn't properly coded and not EVEN properly documented. (Usually programmers do explain every single thing that is done in the code by commenting right beside what is written)... Here it's very poorly done. You cannot really understand what's done.

Argabides In reply to PenciLollipop [2016-10-20 13:27:16 +0000 UTC]
Because it was discontinued nearly 90 years ago, Back then, Sweden was the country we wanted to become (Oh the irony!). It went back to a rather shallow interpretation of the French system, Turned into a shallow version of the American system, Mismanagement, Lack of proper funding and of qualified personnel haunt the system.
Perhaps even the coders didn't know what they wanted to do?!

PenciLollipop In reply to Argabides [2016-10-22 14:31:03 +0000 UTC]

Argabides In reply to PenciLollipop [2016-10-22 17:26:58 +0000 UTC]
Perhaps! They need some motivation after all!
I don't quite understand the second statement.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
PenciLollipop In reply to Argabides [2016-10-24 17:19:28 +0000 UTC]
The second statement was that i am a contractor for the french government right now. I am working for them for 3 months so i got a chance to see how things work there... And the careers are really dull for them. They don't have any chance of getting a much better job if they perform well.
All teachers are employed by the state and have the same problem of a dull career... So they don't excel in their job...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Argabides In reply to PenciLollipop [2016-10-26 21:05:44 +0000 UTC]
That's terrible. Why would they work if they lack the motivation? I'm no economist, But I have a feeling this won't end well.
How do you think the state can motivate them to be at their peak?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
PenciLollipop In reply to Argabides [2016-10-27 08:55:07 +0000 UTC]
Money ?
Well that would be the first solution. Most people don't do their best on a career that doesn't pay.
Opportunities to develop themselve personnaly and professionally are too scarce too.
Other than that, the facilities are pretty old and there is a lack of material. The management is almost non existing and students are not helped properly to chose their field of studies. All of that leads to dull classes both students and teachers... So neither of these groups are engaged in what they do.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Argabides In reply to PenciLollipop [2016-11-08 14:58:31 +0000 UTC]
Do excuse the late reply.
That should be obvious! I meant, How do you propose we give them the money? More budget to education? Less funds for the military? And how do you propose they improve the dull classes?
I ask because I'm interested, Language planning is my job after all, You can't have good language planning without a proper education system.

No problem, i'm often away from the computer too. Take your time.
I heard canadian teachers are well paid and invested in what they do... Maybe tuition fees are not such a bad things if they are well invested. (Here in france, schools with fees just spend all of it in advertising their school... Wut ?)
Apart from that, i don't know. Northern european country have very reknown education system thanks to higher taxes and education is free... They also have a better system on the whole.
I don't have an answer, i'm just watching things and thinking. I joined 42. A very interesting school in france, for that very reason. I'm interested in disruptive education models.

I guess I should do more research on the subject then.
