The people from SVA were really nice though. Actually the person that reviewed me wrote me a small letter. Thought the line for SVA was waaaay too long

Haha, not corny at all, I understand completely how you feel.

Names are silly. I dunno, speaking from personal experience, when I visited Syracuse, I concluded that I didn't like the place at all, despite it's "prestigious name". Kind of.

Besides, it's your future, and quite frankly, you're gonna be the one a. attending and b. paying for it in the long run. So unless your parents are doing applications for you, I wouldn't worry about a thing. :]

Ah, awesome! With the exception of Ringling, I'm applying basically to the same schools (as I mentioned before).

I had a kind of similar dilemma...my parents didn't take me seriously when I told them I wanted to study art in college. Especially my dad, goodness, he thought I was joking for at least 6 months!

It took a lot of convincing.

It'll all turn out good in the end though, I'm sure. I mean, as long as you're passionate about what you want to do, and you pursue it, then what could go wrong? Anything possible if you want it bad enough.
