You will find that art or fandom communities are very prominent on DA. If there is anything you're interested in (within Deviant Art guidelines, of course ), there is probably a group for it. To find a group, scroll over the 'More' button at the top of your screen and select 'Groups.' From there you can search and join as your heart desires!
