Hey, I'm really sorry it took me so long to respond, I've been busy, I don't use the grid method, I used to, it's very useful, but I don't like to deal with errasing so much, it can damage the paper, you might still see the lines, I don't like it. I use something similar to the grid but 98% is freehand, I'll explain one day on my journal, thanks.

what kind of scanner do you use, because i've just recently started to do portraits but when i would scan it on my computer it would come out really grainy. thx and your art work is really impressive.

What I usually do is take apicture under good lighting, like outside under shade, I only used my scanner twice and I didn't really like the way it came out, good luck.
