I have a need of custom sprites for a variety of reasons. Mainly I want to use them for Starcraft units, and I also would like to use them in the game I am trying to program....

I've never played Starcraft but I'm pretty sure MMX style sprites don't fit the game at all. Maybe you should find someone who's more skilled with SC style stuff... (does it even use sprites?)

You are quite mistaken, I assure you. I have created 2 custom themes already (both of them Megaman); the secret to a good Starcraft unit is in the sprites one can use. Of course, it depends on the unit in question, as well as what you intend to modify it to, but I assure you MMX characters work out quite well. And yes it does utilize sprites....

Your work would suit just fine, I assure you! Rawk on!
