Well I can only say that I feel the same. I used to look up to people a lot and I still do with others but now that I'm a working illustrator younger people do the same to me and I'm trying to tell them that it's not that different. It creates a kind of fake distant between a persons dream and what he/she thinks is possibly real or something. But it's all real and what matters is where your passion lies .

Ehm, they sometimes smell a bit, but so do cats and dogs (and actually I would say dogs and cats smell even more than ferrets).
When male ferrets are sterilized/neutered they don't smell so much anymore. And yes they sometimes still have a very musky smell (when they are scared or very relaxed), but it's not very regular. For more info: animals.pawnation.com/ferrets-… .

And ehm, I have to say I loved playing and looking at games in the showcase room (yay),
but the talks were kinda 'meh' for me.
I expected more talk about art, actually two talks had art/artists  in their title so I was happy, but it ended not being about art at all .
Then there was sort of a 'double' talk about exactly the same subject (too bad, but mainly a fault of the organisation). After everything I have to conclude I would consider going again, but only if there is really really something or someone I'd like to see. I'm not exactly an indie-developer myself, just partly indie 2D artist, so the rest of the things just weren't really interesting to me, but it was good to experience anyway.
What about you? Maybe if you have another game next year you can showcase again ?

Ahw that's too bad to hear!
But don't be discouraged about these events as a whole, since most of them do have great talks about art and design.
I would recommend you check out other similar events hosted by the dutch game garden and such, they have a larger budget and a bit more experience in organising these kinds of events.

Are there any specifics you would like to know about? Maybe I have aa useful artical in my inspiration or must read folders ^_^

And we do plan to be regulars at these types of events, especially if they're close by like Indiegameleon.
Sometimes it's just too timeconsuming and expensive to travel to Utrecht or Amsterdam every time -_-"

Jij ook bedankt voor de watch Ja dat klopt ik ben een echte illustrator
Afgestudeerd van Academie Minerva en nu al drie jaar weer bezig. 
Het is ontzettend leuk om te doen, maar je moet niet verwachten veel geld te verdienen ( of in ieder geval niet de eerste 5 a 10 jaar), dus ik zou...als ik zelf opnieuw moest kiezen..heel voorzichtig zijn. Je kan namelijk ook tekenen naast een andere studie en zo langzaam opdrachten en een fanbase opbouwen naast een goede (bij)baan. Maarja, of je kan zoals ik heel gek zijn en er gewoon voor gaan (ik heb een hele liever partner die wel een normale baan heeft) XD maar het is niet makkelijk (niet dat ik je wil afschrikken though).
Cool dat je ook van lolita kleding houdt ook! Ik ben zelf er al tijden fan van, maar nooit echt veel geld gehad of de moeite genomen er serieus tijd aan te besteden. Maar laatst dus toch nog een jurk gekocht, woopwoop!

Ik ben vandaag trouwens gegaan naar een intake van een kunstacademie voor een illustratie studie.. maar ik ben al halverwege afgewezen ._. (was in Utrecht) . Ik ben eigenlijk al het hoop al verloren dat ik uberhaupt dit jaar nog in een kunstacademie geaccepteerd wordt omdat ik simpelweg niet goed genoeg ben ><.
Ik heb me ingeschreven in 3 scholen.. nog 1 intake te gaan en ik wacht op nog op de uitslag van mijn andere intake..

Wat denk jij eigenlijk? Als illustrator kan je waarschijnlijk wel uitleggen wat er mis is met mijn werken ><
Vind jij dat ik eigenlijk wel goed genoeg ben voor een illustratie studie u.u ? Wees maar eerlijk hoor ;w; maar wees wel aardig haha want ik ben vandaag enorm teleurgesteld geweest toen ik werd afgewezen. Het liefts heb ik eigenlijk gewoon advies ;w;b

Veel kan ik niet doen aan mijn werken voor nu though u.u .. ik heb het veels te druk met mijn eindexamen QAQ
