A warning for anyone who comes back to check if she'll ever be active: Pay artist's half and half. Don't ever pay in full unless they have an established client base. (There's a few well known artists that are like this) Give a deadline, so that if a chargeback is needed, you can get your money back. I believe chargebacks are within 40 days but your bank might have a longer window of time.Β
I don't commission nearly as much anymore because artists like this fuck it up. Be wary, good luck to all of you out there and sorry some low life pos ran off with your well-earned money.

Yeah, but hardly anyone was taking commissions with me at my regular prices. Or even at these prices, actually. 
I have had some and I'm very grateful for them, but there hasn't been as many as I need to have; and not as many as I would expect given the cost vs. time/effort/detail put into my art.

I wasn't planning on responding to your comments ('Don't feed the troll' and the like a fitting reply to this sort of thing).
But I confess I'm curious: what was your purpose in your comments? Did you actually think I would suddenly realize that: 'OMG! I've been so wrong by creating art that *I* like all this time, when I should have been catering to you, a total stranger. How selfish of me to create what is pleasing to me. Creating my art for myself completely goes against the point of being an artist, OMG!'
It obviously wasn't meant to be a constructive critique as it's neither constructive or a critique. I certainly realize I have more than enough room for improvement in my work and I am always working to improve. But that's not what this is about. It's just you telling an artist who loves creating what they do that they're wrong... because *you* find it "gross".
Do you really think that I, or the rest of the world for that matter, am at all interested in your personal tastes, hang-ups, or insecurities? Most people, when they encounter something not to their taste, ignore it and move on. They're mature enough to realize that everything in this world isn't defined by their tastes because the world doesn't consist only of them.
For instance, I've seen your gallery, and other issues in execution aside, even stylistically I don't find your art at all appealing. But just as I have a right to create art that is pleasing to me, you have a right to create art that is pleasing to you. However, unlike you, I respect that and move on. I have little enough time to tell the artists I do like what I think about their work to waste it telling those I don't like that I think the art that makes them happy is "gross".
I don't care if you hate my art; you have every right to like or dislike it as you see fit. But until you've managed to get over yourself, I suggest you just 'move on' when you see my work, or that of others that you don't like because of personal taste. I'm not going to change my art, style or content. Besides, your time would be better spent working on improving your own work than harassing other artists about theirs. If when you've grown up, you would like to have a polite discussion, you're welcome to drop by. But until then...

Yes, I suppose you would prefer my art if the men were half-naked and if I colored everyone so that they appeared sticky to the touch, but, unfortunately, since I don't plan on illustrating for the porn industry, that's not going to happen any day soon. Also, someone like you shouldn't really talk about my work. I have at least a basic understanding of composition and anatomy. I'm sure both areas confuse you a great deal.
If you don't want people to criticize your work, then don't make lame ads for your lukewarm calendars. You're opening yourself up for it.
Also, naked men aren't gross. It's how poorly you render them that is.
