I know the feeling, there are plenty of useful tutorials on max all over the net, its definitely worth learning, at least as much as photoshop is, but you do need deep pockets for some of the better plug-ins its entirely worth it.

ya i was jus researching 3ds max rite now cuz to be honest.. sadly i never heard of it, but it looks pretty sweet, definitely tonnes better than solidworks.. and i believe it even beats CATIA with rendering.. it looks beautiful. im guessing most gaming maps/characters/machinery are made on this program?

Its slowly become the industry standard, yep most games and movies are made with it, and the reason is it renders pretty fast, and is generally considered easy to learn though that can be very relative based on the learners experience. You should research the Cebas FinalRender plugin suite, a highly recommended addon.

i tried to google but it appears ppl get similar problems but not the exact one, n the way they solve theirs doesnt work with mine. but thats Photomatix pro 4 that does that, if i use Photomatix 2 Light it doesnt do it lol..

is there much of a difference between using 4 or 2? does it give better results or is it the same thing?
plus how does shooting in RAW enhance it? why not shoot it in an rgb format straight away?

as for raw - have you opened any raw photos in camera raw? the possibilities are endless

ive taken raw photos then put them on my laptop but it looked like an ordinary photo, i couldnt tell what the difference was just by looking at it, i was hoping you'ld tell me

download photoshop, pirated version ofc
when you open a .raw (cr2 or whatever format it is) photo in it it you will see what im talking about.

camera raw, part of photoshop. you need maybe to update ps in order to recognize .raw photos.
