Tarnished Coast is an RP server, right? Do you suggest anything to get a gist of the lore/GW RP scene? I tried looking at the GW Wiki but I was just completely overwhelmed and have no idea where to start... especially since I'm thinking of making a Charr, and to my understanding those guys aren't too friendly with other races. :c

Welp, the best way I found to get GW lore was to watch a Let's Play of the first mission installment. But seeing how you don't have time to watch like 200 20 minute episodes... XD;

Alright, Charr are the type of race that don't take bullshit. They are constantly warring or yearning for war. They are the most technologically advanced race of Tyria, resulting in a steampunk type feel. If a charr was raised at the Black Citadel in the warbands, then they will be very military-focused. Their legion is like their family--in fact they usually only refer to their family as sire and dam.

A charr not raised in the warbands is called a gladium, and they could be a bit different than your 'average' charr. However, it is a commonality amongst *most* of them that they are a bit aggressive.

Charr and humans have the biggest grudge against each other right now due to their warring history, but there is a treaty in place. All five of the major races are working together against the dragons.

Thanks for the info! I wasn't too sure what the Charr's current situation was since the wiki only detailed past conflicts, so you helped a lot! I found some good stuff on the Guild Wars RP Wiki, too, so I'm going to try playing around with a character concept until I can get my computer back from the IT guys. Hopefully sooner than later, before all the big research papers start rolling in. :c

And oooh, Firstwatch looks like a pretty awesome RP guild. Too bad I wouldn't be much of a good fit - I'll spectate, then.

Yar FIC is pretty great! I can see there might be issues with your schedule though. Even I am finding it difficult to maintain activity sometimes. @__@; It's good to be a part of something so active though, and the people there are very kind.

However, I am friends with some people in another guild called BoI. It's a lot more relaxed and casual, but still has buttloads of RP. Let me know if you'd be interested in that, as I RP with many of them too. :3

Awesome! I've made two characters but I won't be able to play today. I'll do my best to hop on tomorrow or Friday after work, though! My Charr is Urzgul Ironhide (Engie), and my Sylvari is Elunduil (Guardian). I might remake Elunduil though, since I'm iffy about his name. :c

Anddd... I wasn't able to make my account on Tarnished Coast. It said the server was full so I'm on Stormbluff. :c I heard that there's a guesting feature, though. Will I still be able to run around with ya? D:

Me too. :c I've heard that a lot of the freshmen were having problems with their computers so I guess mine just got put on the backburner. OTL I'm stuck with a dinosaur loaner right now - I'm surprised I can even go on dA. :'D

Yeah, I've perused the forums and it looks like they have some awesome events going on! It's definitely nice when a guild builds such an active plot. Just a shame that it takes a whole chunk out of your time to keep up with it. :c

I'll give them a look if I'm not completely paralyzed by GW rping, ahaha. 8D; I've always been a forum kind of person... mostly for time constraints (and room for my rambling posts), but also because I have some sort of weird stage fright when it comes to "real time" RP pfft. D': I'm hoping this will get me used to it, though. c: ...If the game works at all.
