Tis A-Ok, I'm honestly really bad about following back on pretty much every social media, so dA is a weird oddball in that I follow so many?????
Literally, I have accounts I watch since I first started this account back in high school and most of them are like full dead but I can't remember which is which and my brain is full babble mode right now cause it's nearing three AM where I'm at and I should sleep soon hahahaa goodness.

I tried to stop a bit myself cause at some point i'm overwhelmed with all the infos... same with Twitter :s so i try to choose well what i follow and/or follow back XD DeviantArt always have been different, same for furaffinity °0° It's not really the same interraction sooo I completly forget to follow back or just don't dare sometimes? Or just sometimes i'm like "what's the point following i'm not even commenting" buuut i guess there is always some kind of support about at least following back... Sooooo heh usually i follow back people i see more often

Oh man, I had to rein myself in on tumblr.
Like, I've been on the site for 8 almost 9 years now, and if I was still following all the people I started with, I'd have well over 2000 blogs crammed into my feed due to how frequently my hyperfixations shift gears. I have to force myself to go through with specific criteria every couple of months to pare things down, usually starting with who's been inactive the longest and if I follow them on other media, and just going from there really. Right now, I'm following just a little under 400 blogs, and I'm going to be going through them soon to make sure they're all still relevant to my interests.
My main thing is that I really love to support people and if they're part of a fandom or something else I enjoy following, I tend to go a bit overboard and follow like ten to twenty blogs in a rush to Get That Content, whether or not it's actually any quality. I then have to go back and tell myself that just because they're part of that thing I enjoy, doesn't mean I HAVE to follow them.
I make exceptions for people I actually talk to and sometimes follow on other places like Twitter or Instagram, since it's easier to have more direct conversations with people on Tumblr or dA than on those more image specific platforms.

haha yeah! i think trying to see who haven't been active since a while is a nice trick to clean a bit XD unless it's some friends or artist you really like but then heh you know you shouldn't delete X)
daaaamn I used to do the same back in... I don't even know XD been a while since i started DA... I amde a new account since my first time of course... but I agree, tumblr and DA are easier to deal with when you wanna communicate! twitter is... weirder I think... or go on PM... I'm not completly used to twitter but it's nice for some messages

Haha, I know the feeling, I've been on dA and tumblr for so long it's kind of stupid.
Admittedly, I'm really bad about uploading anything consistently cause I got it in my head really early on that I shouldn't post anything, especially to my dA, that isn't what I call finished. Which is really annoying to me because there's so many artists who I follow whose work I vastly enjoy who post works that coming from myself I would not call 'finished'. It's something I fight with myself a lot about, like, I recently uploaded all these little portraits, and I love them, they were super fun to make and they're really colorful and neat-
But I literally had to mentally slap myself into actually posting them because there was a part of my brain going THEY'RE TOO SIMPLE THEY'RE NOT WORTHY AAAHHH!
Stupid brain.
I'm trying to make myself post more often, but a lot of the WIP and stuff I consider sketchier ends up on my tumblr or instagram.

Oh lord the not finished issue! I learned that a drawing or painting is never finished. You can always add stuff. BUT for the sake of composition or even lack of motivation or energy, you can stop a drawing whenever you want 
You could always make a folder named "sketches" and post them there ^^ could help?

I've certainly been considering it, if I'm entirely honest.
My main issue is that dA specifically wants names and titles and descriptions for everything, which is fine and dandy but also infuriating when your internalize perfectionism goes IT MUST BE NAMES WHAT NAME AHHHH and you end up staring at a stupid white box for ten minutes before giving up. Tumblr and Instagram are great for dealing with that cause A) you can upload multiple images, and B) you don't actually have to include any kind of description. Course, I imagine a lot of that is my own mindset kicking me in the tuckus so... Yeah.

It would be really cool to be able to upload like a PDF document or something and have the deviation be like a flip reader or something of the compiled PDF. Or like an option for bulk uploading that puts the unfinished uploads into the Stash and you can choose to upload from the Stash instead of having to upload one image at a time. That would be AWESOME.
And I'll see if I can't get my picky dumb brain to stop fussing so much over titles and descriptions, I think I'm going to see if I can't upload some of my sketches I've been doing. SO MANY SKETCHES.

Maybe because, like tumblr, dA is more concerned with the aesthetic of the site than the actually utility to its users?
I mean, they only just further developed their mature content filter to actually say what mature content it involves and the severity of the content in, oh, the last 3 years? And this site has been around for literally over a decade??? Honestly, all this effort that went into the Eclipse thing should have been turned to better filtering of fetish content and getting rid of the spam accounts.

I can maybe make it about five minutes before I feel like I'm scraping my eyeballs with sandpaper. It's not that it's a bad design, no, it's just a design made purely based on aesthetic and actually USING the aesthetic design is like pulling teeth. And why is everything so weirdly dark???? Like, no, neutral colors to showcase artwork, you imbeciles, were you raised in a barn you nincompoops???!!?!
Pre-Eclipse at least has vibes of like a semi-professional gallery, green tones but neutral to allow the artwork to stand alone and be displayed at it's strength. But Eclipse is so DARK and it draws so much attention to the site format rather than showcasing the art I just- UUUUUUGH.

Everything has been optimized to a civilization that spends a lot of time on mobile devices with bright screens, which isn't a bad thing in the least, but still frustrates the heck out of me when these platforms decide that their desktop designs must match the mobile, when the vast majority of people who use the desktop platform are looking for a completely different experience than a mobile user.
Using myself as an example, when I'm working on a mobile sight, I much prefer something that is a simpler, more streamlined aesthetic that doesn't bog down my phone with unnecessary interface gimmicks. On desktop, I want as much control over my experience as I can get, and I go to great lengths with plug ins and add ons to make sure I can get the experience I want with as little trouble as possible. Like, I can't block ads on my phone, I have to deal with them whether I want to or not, but on desktop, I purposefully block every kind of ad that I come across so I don't have them interfering.
Sorry, I really went off on a tangent there. I have very strong opinions on aesthetic over function these days. ><

I just wish the people in charge understood the whole concept of different formats working better on different operating platforms. Bugs the ever loving HECK out of me seeing a mobile site being used on a desktop platform, ugh.
I currently have the Eclipse update turned off, so it's the neutral grey-ish green that doesn't make my eyes go sBGKJesDFNDKSJA trying to compensate for the high contrast. I am NOT looking forward to the inevitable point where they force the switch. ><

The only black background version I saw is on my phone it was weird at first lol. But yeah I don't think I have seen it on computer. I know for tumblr changes happen first in USA then other countries.

I really do accidentally assume accents, though, it's a weird quirk I've never really figured out the reason for. Like, when I went to study abroad in Australia several years back, I assimilated the city accent within a matter of days and didn't even realize it until I was talking with my fellow students and they asked me why I was doing an accent. I hadn't even noticed, and I had to consciously remind myself several times during my stay to pay attention to my vernacular so I wouldn't abruptly go Full Ocker. It got even worse when I went to New Zealand, and even now here at home in the States, I'll end up absorbing an accent from watching a show or hearing someone visiting from another country, and it'll be stuck until I finally notice and can correct myself.

Once upon a time, yeah.
My folks and I used to road trip a lot when I was younger, and the Australia/New Zealand trip was kind of my big last hurrah out of the States before I dove into the workforce. I've basically been stuck ever since, which is depressing as heck, since I A) desperately want to visit more of the world, and B) am really sick and tired of the stupid politics going on here in the US. ><

Ugh, airports...
So long as you keep calm and plan ahead, it's not totally horrendous, but it can still be really annoying and tiresome. I find the easiest way to get through it all is to pack as light as possible, wear comfortable easy to get in and out of clothing, and have all your paperwork contained in a separate pocket or small bag that you can get into and out of easily but can also be easily secured. Holster bags are the BEST in airports, having the extra pockets in such a secure space is AMAZING.
