A crying baby left a boo hoo hoo message on my page to show the world that I am a terrible person according to this xtian who "knows" that God is not agaist war. Wow was I put in my place and my life has been turned around. Oh where would we be without whinny xtians.

Personally, I probably wouldn't trust Bush or Kerry with anything more dangerous than string. But whatever, I'll be 20 days away from 18 come election day, it's a moot point.
I see you've quoted a Jesus thing in your journal, though... I'm not Christian (I'm Taoist/Buddhist) and it's been said before, but do you think the Prince of Peace would vote for a war president? What are your thoughts on that, just outta curiousity?

Well, I know that God isn't totaly against war. In the Old Testament, the Israelites went into battle at Gods request many times. In fact, Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 are as follows:
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
While this passage obviously doesn't justify our actions in Iraq, it does let us know that there is a time for any action that God has not set asside as sin. For example, I'm sure he doesn't mean "a time to blaspheme...". But back to the point, I've pointed out that God won't hate a leader just because of wartime activities. What I do know is that Senator Kerry (who is Catholic) has been barred from taking communion until he reverses his stance on abortion. I know that God hates to see a child die, and I know that Kerry (pro-choice) Is becomming ever closer to excommunication. Now I realize that being tossed out of the Catholic church isn't the same as being tossed out of heaven, but I think you can see how Kerry's actions seem less admirable (by the Christian standard of ethics) than the actions of Bush. I hope that cleared up a couple things.

I'm vegan and I don't like abortion either (though I wouldn't outlaw it), so I see what you're getting at. But I would say change that to "by some Christian standards of ethics" rather than 'all.'

Yes, a link to Kerry's website... very persuasive. Just so you know, the biggest reason I'm voting for Bush still has more to do with Bush and less to do with Kerry. See my explanation in one of the posts below yours.
