I don't know. Unlike other tournaments, the selection doesn't seem random. It seemed to perfect for me to actually get to fight Mecha King for robot fighting action. I think maybe we should try.

Yeah my old art is pretty "embarrassing" to say the LEAST...*shudders*- also this should answer your question  A Guide to OCTsOriginal Character Tournaments are all over deviantart and keep growing in popularity, but not everyone knows what they are or how to participate in them.  Since they're hosted by individuals and not actually affiliated with the website itself, there are no guides available to help explain how they work.  Hopefully, this FAQ will be helpful to anyone looking to get involved in OCTs.
What is an OCT?
OCTs, or "Original Character Tournaments" are contests held here on deviantart in which you can pit your original characters against other people's characters in a comic-style battle-royale.  To put it simply, it's a cross between an art competition and a storytelling contest.
OCTs can be hosted on someone's account, or they can have a tournament account of their own.  OCTs are usually open to anyone with a deviantart account, although some are invite only.  Information about who is eligible to audition will usually be clearly stated sc:

Oh, the OCT thing sounds pretty intresting. Not my personal cup of tea, but I see how it could be fun!

Some of the shit I did during my early days on this site was stuff for the books to be honest. I started a flame war because I sent hate to somebody about them shipping their shitty self insert with Danny Phantom. It was really mean that I started a fight because everybody deserves to have fun with fandoms in their own ways, but it doesn't change the fact that their self insert is a mary sue.

as fun as it is, im more in it to advance my skills, as you're forced to reach a deadline whilst creating LOADS of art, if you want a really good example of it check out Zeurel 's walking city entries, they're pretty great and I'd be lying if i said i didn't tear up little at certain parts
