Hello guys. My name is Christopher Williams a.k.a. Kurisu Uiri 鵜入久利守 and welcome to my page. To start off, I'm 20 and I have been drawing for almost all my life. I have taken a few art classes in my middle school and high school years. My favorite things to draw are animals, Pokémon and manga/anime characters. I'm planning to be the first black mangaka published in Japan. I have many ideas for manga I want to make, my main one being a Pokemanga based on a fake Generation VII. For those of you not Pokémon savvy, Pokémon X, Y and OR/AS are in Generation VI. The title of my Pokemanga is Pokémon Light and Sound (ポケットモンスターライト＆サウンド Poketto Monsutaa Raito to Saundo), and right now I only have the designs of starters, but I'm working on their middle and final forms. I also have trainers I made from hapuriainen's dress up app. Be sure to look out for those as well.
My other manga ideas include one based on my feral cats, and another one about ferrets (my fav animal), and I also have 3 manga strips about meerkats. However I hope to work on my meerkat manga as well.
My pen name is Kurisu Uiri. In Kanji that's 鵜入久利守 (Uiri Kurisu) and now you know how to write it in kanji. I wish I could have put the kanji in my username, but unfortunately you can't put Japanese letters in your name. Let me explain how I came up with my name.
OK, so my first name is Christopher and obviously I also go by Chris. So I took Chris and translated it into Japanese as クリス (Kurisu). Then I changed that into kanji like this: 久利守. The first character ku means eternal, the second character ri means clever, and the third character su means protect. All together my first name is written with 16 strokes, and the middle kanji has 7 strokes to match my birthday in July.
My last name Williams becomes ウィリアムス (Wiriamusu) in katakana. Again, I just took the first few katakana Uiri and changed it into kanji. Originally I was going with 宇入 but I changed it to 鵜入. The kanji 鵜 (u) means cormorant, and 入 (iri) means enter. Cormorant has more strokes making it more complicated than its same-sound counterpart 宇 meaning universe. And besides, cormorant at 18 strokes plus the 2 strokes in enter totals to 20 strokes for my last name. 20 is the date of the month I was born and currently my age. When you put it together, my full name has 36 strokes, which is kind of cool because if you take my birth year of 1994 and multiply 9 times 4, you get 36.
And last of all, I would like to say that I am autistic but I refuse to let that stop me from fulfilling my dream. Satoshi Tajiri is my inspiration to make my own Pokémon and achieve fame just like him. This is because just like myself, Satoshi Tajiri is autistic. He was the man who even created Pokémon in the first place, so I thought that was awesome.
