Graduating soon with a degree in physical science and two minors; one in chemistry and another in teaching & learning. I have no idea what I'll do with that. Tweet me if you really want to talk to me.I play around in photoshop every now and then. Sometimes I end up with something half-decent. I write occasionally but I'm not sure it's all that great. I dabble in a lot of things but I keep coming back to journal design and coding. I'll answer your questions but I don't really do custom journals anymore since I let my dA premium subscription run out.

quick question: can you make CSS act like a Webcomic like drunkduck.com for a folder or a journal here on DA? you know, have a [first], [next], [Previous], & [Last] buttons for each page.

You can link images but you'd have to do it for every journal. It'd be very cumbersome. Otherwise, you can include links in each of the deviation's comments for first/next/prev/last, as I'm sure you're already doing. Since you're a premium member, you can even include thumbnails of these pages.
Anyway: if you visit a gallery folder and click on a deviation in it, there will be a trio of navigation buttons at the top left where the search bar usually is: < Prev, ::All [which takes you back to the folder], Next >. You can make sub-folders (I didn't even know until I looked just now!), which seems handy for separating chapters or sketch/bonus content.
If you're wanting to make a table of contents and "about" page type journal or gallery , that's done easily enough. If that's the case, I can give you further advice in creating and updating such a journal. Such a thing would require CSS only for the appearance of the gallery/journal. The links, etc. would be done with HTML.

Wow, very interesting. Much Thanks for even responding to me. I was having Issues linking every deviation with the back and forth editing pages and copy & paste http links. it's gets cumbersome in that way. I was really hoping that there was a way, but the way you describe above using Journals sounds almost cumbersome, however possible.
Now, I'm loving the whole idea of creating a Table of contents for my issue. never thought about that. How do you go about doing that? as a matter of fact can we send notes on this subject?
