# About me

My name is Katherine Reed and I have been throwing clay for about 4 years. 3 of those years I was in high school and wasn't very serious until the last year. This last year I've been taking ceramics classes at Johnson County Community College and have enjoyed every minute of it. My teacher is a sculptor so it can be hard for me to spend most of my time throwing because she prefers wacky hand built things over uniform thrown forms. We have butted heads over it but I still love her as a teacher.

Recently I've joined “The Clay Guild” and they are a nonprofit organization that for a fee lets artists come in and use their wheels, tools, and kiln.

Also I’ve begun selling my pottery to strangers and have been very excited about it (technically that makes me a professional) so I've decided to set up on Deviant Art in an attempt to make my audience larger. I hope to be able to start on commissions soon or sell the pottery I already have finished.
