# About me
My name is Karolina Kabata. I was born in 1995 in Poland. At the age of 8/9 I moved to Italy with my family. I did most of my education there. I did go to an art high school where I fell in love with the sculpture. Unfortunately I was unlucky and all of my works are in pieces or lost. On the last year of high school I started to do some digital art. In 2014 I bought my first Wacom Intous Pro S and I still use it as my primary tool. I did one of two years of a digital art class in 2016. I moved to Poznań, Poland in 2017, lost myself in a dailyjob and after a traumatic experience I decided I wanted to change my life. I got back to oil painting. I did a tattoo course and now I’m trying to make a living out of it and of my drawings in general. At the core I’m an artist. I live for it, I breathe for it. I could not immagine myself living without it. I draw inspiration from my own struggles and from those of others. My illustrations could be defined as “macabre”. I’m facinated with death and the higher meaning of things. Once my art history teacher told me “ If you draw a pretty picture you are an artisan, if you put a meaning in it you are doing art”. I strongly believe that art should be more than just a pretty picture. I do think that to do “true art” you should put a piece of your soul, a message in it, hiden or not. Beacause an image can say something that a milion words could not. The way we can relate to an image, for me, is uncomparable to the way we do it with words and that’s why I chose to do it this way.
