Just wanted to say, you and your dolls are an amazing inspiration to me, especially older Ila. Your Ila has made me fall in love with the Muse sculpt even more, so much so that I'm seriously considering getting one.. (again =.=
And.. that's all. Just wanted to let you know what an inspiration you are!

Wow, that was one big comment of sweet, heart-warming words. Thank you ever so much, it's always so so nice to hear these kind of things. Handy to save them up inside my head, to use in a darker period. (:
And ooooh! Do get a Muse! They are amazing I tell you!

I'm glad you appreciated the comment- I truly meant what I said.
Even though it's been exactly two months since you last replied to me, I would like to say that I did end up getting a Muse, and she is beautiful! <3 You are right, they truly are amazing.

Thanks for the llama, sweety! And omgosh, your webcam is adorable. Silas is getting so big!
and lol, he matches your hair. The first thing I thought of was the scenario when the dog and owner begin to start looking like each other. haha

Theehee, you're very welcome <3
And he's getting big isn't he! Boy I think I can see he has grown even bigger this past week. xD
I hear that a lot, and it is indeed very true in our case! I can reckognize it too, when seeing owners and their dogs. It just..matches so well most time. xD Strange that a certain personality/vibe/style is so easily reflected on the dog(and of course the choice of race has something to do with that too)
It makes me so happy that you like Silas *weirdo*

goddessOFtheSUN In reply to Jubriel [2010-08-12 05:22:05 +0000 UTC]
LOL I'm a bit relieved that you don't think I'm the weirdo for paying so much attention to your dog! It really is true about the similarities between dog and owner. Human personality traits rub off on animals (especially dogs). I really think people should give animals more credit for their intelligence. But of course, I'm not saying that YOU don't. haha You clearly love your pooch.
I once had a brown-spotted Dalmatian, named Toby, who grew really fat and I fear that was because I'm a little chunky myself! xDD I should have taken better care of him but he lives in a much nicer environment now. I miss him sometimes. ;_; Take good care of Silas! And take lots more pictures. haha

Ha! I found you!
I'm the girl who was visiting together with Trifon last thursday ^^
I got interested in your art and after typing in "leather chair" into deviantart's painting search I found you haha, thorough huh?
I really admire how much concentration you put in pretty much everything you make. The sculpey face is definitely my favorite (and in real life it looked so much better than on the WIP photos) the dolls are amazing as well, I wonder how much of them are premade and how much you altered/ created..
I found the black/white drawing of the woman with the broken limbs very impressive, I sort of like that dark stuff, where you know there's a story behind it.
But anyway, I'm not really active on deviantart, I'm usually at www.conceptart.org/forums (do you know those forums? There's some great stuff on there)
I'd like to point you to my online sketchbook there just in case you'd like to see some of my stuff. [link]
How is the application at Rietveld going? Is your portfolio getting there? Maybe you can post the portfolio here for feedback?
Bye
Marleen.

Ah, the pretty girl! (You won't believe how long I ranted about that to Trifon *gigglesnort* xD <-- and that's totally out of my alley I tell you.)
And I'm actually really flattered you wanted to see my stuff!
Thanks a lot!! When you saw the face it was different indeed, as the foto's of it here are all unfinished process pictures. Still want to make half a hand with it as well, to come out of a mirror.
I really enjoy doing details most of all, also when it's not even visible to others. For example, want to make my own canvas, making detailed carvings in the wood and then stretching leather on it to paint on. Just the whole idea of making my own canvas, and then putting so much detail in it that isn't even visible at first sight -like with people- makes me all excited. :3 But I'm ranting!
Ah, I've seen that forum before, though never looked at it thourough. I'll register right away ..if it'll stop giving me trouble *shakes fist* Hmn, I can't seem to register. I'll try again later.
And yes! It's getting there! Although I'm a bit anxious about getting all my photo's printed on time! I won't have a decent portfolio without them! D8 So, that's my main concern right now. And I really want to put major effort in the thing.
I've bought different coloured sheets of paper for each category I'm putting in it. Artbook, Design, Projects, A Veil Compendium, BJD and a submap for each character. I want it to really represent me, because that's what it should do hmn. So I'm just going to follow my heart and make what I want it to be.
Gonna throw a lot of unfinished things in there as well, process pictures and ideas. I have too much material. xD
That's a great idea! I'll post some things when I find the time!
Have a nice evening! :3
Sophie~

Awww!
Since I really am not that active on DA I only just saw this reply.
You made me go blushing big time behind the PC screen with the pretty girl comment, I feel so flattered! I thought you (and Merel) are really pretty as well, I liked your house too hihi, very calm and warm.
Anyway, I was just wondering if I could add you on msn? Would be easier to talk then (though I'm not online very often): marleen_renders@hotmail.com
I read how it went at Rietveld, I already thought that "too modern" thing might be the case but it was good for you to go anyway. Finearts at HKU might be too modern as well, but is less so than Rietveld I think. Minerva could be good technique-wise, but Groningen is very far from Eindhoven (if you plan to spend weekends at home). And there are plenty of other academies, so some good research is in order I think hihi.
Good luck beating the migraine, get well soon
Marleen.

Dawh, thank you so much!!! Cute xD I'll pass it on to my sis and mum, I bet they'd love to hear that. :3
It's funny don't you think, how houses really seem to have an atmosphere that affects you right away?
And that'd be great fun! I'll add you! (I'm usually not online that much either, but I do have it turned on, when I'm working, so I can always see when someone pokes me later on, or when I'm not too busy ;3)
Yeah, I get the impression the Netherlands are mainly focused on modern art hmn? My parents suggested to see if there might be a more traditional acadamy in belgium perhaps, but I'd like it not to be too far away, since living at home is the easiest way to go while studying. I'd like to be able to completely focus on the study and not worry about everything involved with living on your own.
But indeed, good research is key!
Thanks~ <3 It has toned down a lot..although I did start my period today, in addition. =_= Lol, next thing in line. xD
Talk to you soon! ;3

But I found out already.
Greetings to Eindhoven! Have never been there, is it worth a visit?
π: 0 β©: 1
Jubriel In reply to Gooregan [2010-01-12 13:45:16 +0000 UTC]
I reckoned you would. xP
And no, definitely not. xD I find it not so very charming here, mostly because a lot of the buildings got bombed flat in WO2, and they replaced them with concrete blocks. D8< I live in a pre-war house though. <3
But nope, if you want to visit a nice city in the Netherlands, you should go for either s'Hertoghenbosch, Amsterdam (although that's very touristic) and hmn *ponders* Maastricht maybe. (there are many more though, like Ede, special little town xD). But I like s'Hertoghenbosch the best I think, probably because I've seen more of it.

Gooregan In reply to Jubriel [2010-01-12 13:58:38 +0000 UTC]
Ha, I have been to Amsterdam and Maastricht! And Venlo and smaller cities around there. Of course, Haarlem and Zandvoort. And what you do when you are living in Cologne, close to the NetherlandsΒ΄ border - buying pot and going for holiday trips.
So... no Eindhoven. You are not from the Netherlands originally, are you? *curious*
That concrete block problem is very well known to cities in Germany, itΒ΄s a pity. One thing I like about Helsinki: In the center there are a lot of old houses still, and I used to live in one. Fabulous!
π: 0 β©: 1
Jubriel In reply to Gooregan [2010-01-12 14:09:34 +0000 UTC]
Ah, so a real traveler then.
And why do you think I'm not originally from the Netherlands? Do I look that foreign? xD
I adore old houses so much, and worn, antique things in general actually. But I feel love for detail has mostly evaporated, as it is for example, much cheaper to just put plastic window frames in your house (uber yuck, and I'm seeing it much more often these days D8) in stead of traditional wooden frames. There are other, easier, cheaper materials these days, but my biggest thought simply is 'why?' Why quantity over quality? Sometimes I just find human beings rather stupid. xD No wait, skip that 'sometimes'. xD
