Yea, I think I should be more consistent with production.

Consistency is good, but I think it's best to go at your own pace. A rushed work probably won't be as good as a longer, carefully planned-out one.

Hey, thank you for responding and noticing that I followed you! I just checked out your gallery and let me just say I have some respect for you. Being an artist that does not use digital art(yet) it is hard to find good pencil/ink artists. But when I do, it is usually like finding a diamond in the rough so thank you for keeping up and making great content. Question though, what are your thoughts on yuri drawings?

LITATO In reply to Jojo-kun1 [2018-10-15 04:38:50 +0000 UTC]
Heh, I usually thank people for watching me since I want to ket them know how much their support is appreciated, so no worries. And well, I did try to get into digital art, but it was just frustrating to me. I like to keep things straight and simple, otherwise I'll get confused and everything turns into a mess. That's why I'll probably stick to traditional art for the rest of my life huhu TT v TT)
And yuri drawings? I mean, I don't mind them..? They're like any other couple to me, and if they're cute too, there's no way I am not fangirling over them!

Oh okay. The reason I ask is because I have literally been reading up on Yuri mangas such as Kase san and the morning glories and bloom into you and it now makes me what to have characters in that type of relationship. Also in terms of drawing and anatomy how long have you been doing it for?

LITATO In reply to Jojo-kun1 [2018-10-15 10:03:08 +0000 UTC]
I see. I haven't heard of any of those mangas before, but they sound interesting! And well, I've been drawing my entire life, so definitely more than 10 years. <3

Well, I have been drawing ever since I picked up a pencil when I was in kindergarten xD And I'm sure that with hard work and determination, you can get anywhere!

Wow, that is something else, I need to step my game up! Luckily though I am taking anatomy classes to learn how to draw original characters.

Oh my. You're pretty lucky to be able to get classes! When I first started being more serious about drawing, my parents did not support me, so I'm self-taught. In case you'd be interested, there's also an app/site called Skillshare where you can also learn many, many things from artists all over the world.

Thank you for this wonderful incite, but yea I can definitely relate to you when it comes to having people not supporting my dreams. My Mom is pretty awesome and does support me but my school and teachers do not support me though.

Your school and teachers, eh? Hmmm, that's strange. Honestly, if it were me, I couldn't care less about what the school and teachers think. I mean, their purpose is to 'prepare' me for life, not 'lead' it. If you want to draw, and if that's what you want to do in life, then they have no say in that and will have to accept it whether they like it or not. The only thing they can do is either shut up or, as a teacher should, give you some advices (therefore teach, duh). What I'm trying to say is that for me, a parent's word is more powerful than a teacher's in this matter.
Also, what is the worst they can do? Tell you to stop doodling in class? Tell you to stop drawing? If that's the case, you don't need to listen at all mate. Just keep doing what you love, no matter what they say.

Funny you say what is the worst they can do, well there is a lot. I started doodling a lot in my sophomore year and so I got scolded and yelled at by my teachers, but I almost actually got a suspension due to the fact that I was drawing versus doing my work. I just feel like they just never really understand what it is like to be an artist. But thank you as always for the kind words, and if I am annoying you in any way you can let me know.

LITATO In reply to Jojo-kun1 [2018-10-23 06:51:36 +0000 UTC]
Oh, I see. In my previous school, the teachers were never that strict. Yeah, they'd tell us to focus on work, but they'd never give us detention nor suspension , nor get us in big trouble. But on the other hand, we did realize that focusing on schoolwork was more important when we were, you know, in school, so we did as they said and doodled around and drew when we had some spare time, like when we were done with an assignment for that lesson so we'd have some free time, or when we got out of school for that matter.
Now that I'm in art school though, the teachers are way more open about all kinds of stuff. Last week they actually let us watch a video about why doodling is good for you. It was great, I'd link it to you but unfortunately, I don't have the link. I may try and find it though, I think it's very helpful, so if you're interested, just let me know.
And in no way are you annoying me. Talking to you is very pleasant, so please don't feel nervous around me, I'd hate that.

LITATO In reply to Jojo-kun1 [2018-10-24 21:07:35 +0000 UTC]
Oh, it is? I guess... Well, it's just like any other school, it's just focused on a different subject. Art, that is.
And well, that art school that I am in right now might not be what your expectations are. It's not very professional, things there are more like a free, spontaneous flow of water instead of a rushing watwr stream. It's not a very prestige art school either, it barely gives us the basic education it promised to give, but the people there are nice and welcoming, which kinda balances it out. (We learn regular stuff there, math, science, english, promotion, economy, the history of art, we have some drawing lessons too and the basics of photography).
On the other hand, the other art school that I also got into was more what people would expect an art school to be like, I assume. Prestige? Check. Professional? Check. Visiting galleries and studying abroad? Check. Provides working experiences in big/small companies for the students? Check.
The only 'bad' thing that I can think about when it comes to that school is that it was way too expensive. For me at least. Even with the scholarship, I still wouldn't be able to afford studying there, and it didn't matter that I got into the top five when the results of the exams came out. But that's just life I guess.
What I'm trying to say is that when choosing a school that you want to get into, think about what the school will be able to provide for you, what you expect the school to provide for you, and what you can provide for the school. These three things are one of the most important ones that you have to keep in mind. Of course, the environment and teachers etc. are important too, but first you need to get your priorities straight before you make any choices.
There, if you have any more questions regarding art schools, feel free to ask further, since I feel like I haven't answered all your questions and satisfied your curiosity completely.
