its this hot weather giving me terrible migraines =[
oh i heard about that i usually stick to London base cons and exhibitions
but when i start thing going my friend (the girl in the Tiana dress) and I are going to try and get ourselves a table.
if things take off we'll be planning on going to quite a few more ^.^

Ah that's awesome! (The convention thing not the migraines) What are you thinking of selling? Are you going for comics or prints or a bit of both?

Sorry to hear about the migraines though, the weather has been pretty hot here too. Don't get me wrong, I love sunshine as much as the next person but I don't think Britain as a country knows how to handle it sometimes!

With what i would like to sell would be a bit of both i
would like to see comics (that I've written / drawn),
some prints maybe make some bookmarks
and postcards to.
but ill need to get my butt in gear and start designing
some stuff asap ^.^ 

ps sorry for late reply ive been busy with work taking on
some extra shifts before i went on holiday ^.^

Haha! No problem, life gets hectic sometimes!  

When I started doing cons I started out with prints and small stuff too, it's a good place to start Gives you time to figure out what sells well and what doesn't, what you enjoy working and what's not so fun, you know, get to know yourself as an artist/ comic creator (I swear, that is not meant to sound like it came out of a fortune cookie, but it is true!)

Do you think you would do a big con first or a smaller event to get your bearings?

my friend wanted to start at MCM comic con but I suggested we needed more
time to get a few things together (well i know i needed some time to get some
work finished as well as some comic stuff she might also appreciate the spare time)
also starting out small might be a good idea don't want to jump straight into the
deep end so we are going to share a table at anime gaming con.
that way we can see how things go, get some experience.

i think i would like to know more about my artist side, see what my limits are ^.^
going to book some time off work to work on some stuff / start managing my
time get organised and make a time table. ^.^

Small for sure! I think the first con I did was an independent expo in Cardiff and I didn't even have a comic yet, just promo material for chapter 1. I'm glad I did too since it gave me a chance to get to know the comic community and experience a quite relaxed con before jumping in at the deep end in London It was a bit of a mixture of wanting to wait until I was completely ready and realising that I just has to jump in at some point!

One of the best things I've taken from cons though is it helps you focus on what you really want to do because your surrounded by really talented, nice people and it makes you want to push yourself and your art further, in a good way That and you get pretty good at talking to people!

thought small would be good to start off with ^.^ 
i really wanna feel the motivation to better my skills but
i have a hard time maintaining motivation sometimes.

i would like to ask you when you do get a table
and start selling, whats the deal with tax? my sister told me
even if you sell your own stuff you get taxed
that's one thing I've been worried about because its
self employed. i have no idea about that kind of stuff,
don't wanna get started than get in trouble because 
I've no idea about tax.

i work in a pub at the moment and that's helped me
get better at talking to people haha XD although they'er
usually much older than me.

do you have anymore advice or wisdom about having a 
table at con ??
