Wow! A second little guy!? Man, have I missed a lot... I left Chicago last March to live with my sister and family and have been re-grouping myself ever since. I recently worked dispatch for the Livingston, Montana PD, and am now finally having the opportunity to do my fashion design work/business (my site, www.miradesignstudios.com is not entirely done yet as I just started about a week ago, but it gives you an idea). I hope things are going alright for you

Thank you!!! I'm DEF seeing Thor when I get back. I've had to force myself not to watch the pirated version that's floating around out here.

Seeing that you are a fan of a certain Norse God who wields a certain Hammer, I just had to send my latest color collab your way .

I'm not really a fan of blonds, but Thor is pretty frick'n awesome. Maybe it's just my Scandinavian blood (Oh please, please, oh please let the movie NOT suck!!!)
Hope all is well your way. Come home safe!

Thanks for showing me the Thor piece!! I commented on it there, but again, AWESOME!!!
The movie, I'm sure, is gonna be kick ass. It's one movie I'm looking forward to the most when I get home. Thanks for the well wishes, and pretty soon I'll be back in the good ole USA!!!

Glad you liked it, and thank you again!
We went to see the movie today, got stuck with 3-D since we didn't feel like waiting and that's all the closest theater had. It was fantastic! I don't know if you are an Avengers fan at all, but there are soooooo many sweet little hints hidden in there. Now I guess I'd better cross my fingers for Captain America too, lol. It'll certainly be a good welcome home treat for ya when you get back!

I'm a huge marvel fan in general. I know Avengers is gonna kick ass too. Ever since Marvel Studio's took over and stopped licensing their characters to FOX and the like, they've done a fantastic job. I'm looking forward to Hugo Weaving playing the Red Skull in Cap, and I've heard rumors that Hawkeye will appear in the Avengers movie. All in all, it's gonna be a great next few years for Marvelite's in the theatres!!!
By the time I get back, Thor will still be in theatre's but the lines should be down so I'll get to whoop and holler all I want and not have to worry about pissing anybody off!!! lol

Whats up Jake!
I just have to let ya know what I have going on this month. I am running my first contest and it goes on all the way till the 5th of July. I would really love it if you could get a submission in if ya have the time. You have such a firm grasp on Norse Mythology that I think it might be fun for ya.
Anyways if you're interested check out the latest journal bruddah!

wish I could man, but I just don't see me getting the time anytime soon. With my deployment to Iraq just around the corner, and my computer back and workin I'm trying to catch up on Wolfenheart. Plus I'm helpin out a friend flush out an idea for a new comic based on embodyments of life and death and the struggle, and eventual realization that neither can exist without the other.
So my plates kinda full.
I'm looking forward to seeing what others come up with for TA's new look for DCUO though, and as soon as it comes out, I'm REALLY lookin forward to seeing Kotharus and TA hook up online!!!

ThorsAssassin In reply to Jake-Townsend [2010-06-06 05:37:09 +0000 UTC]
Shit man you sound like you are slammed. No worries on that, looking forward to anything Wolfenheart for sure.
When are you getting deployed by the way? You make sure and stay safe over there bro, come back to us in one piece!
Oh and on the DCUO thing, fuck yeah!!
π: 0 β©: 1
Jake-Townsend In reply to ThorsAssassin [2010-06-07 00:40:43 +0000 UTC]
Well, I tend to overload my plate on a pretty regular basis. I work better under pressure and tend to produce higher quality artwork, rather than when it's at my convienence.
I'm leavin for combat training in Ft Dix New Jersey mid July, and I'll land in country on 9/11. I'll be there for about a year. BUT the laptop is comin with and when I'm on base, I'll have internet access so I'll be able to upload to dA and work on Wolfenheart in my downtime.

Hahah I hear that bro! Made me think of that guy from the movie Predator when they were out in the jungle "I eat pressure for breakfast"
Oh and hell yeah man, looking forward to updates from ya while in country! You pumped up about being deployed or nervous or both?
π: 0 β©: 1
Jake-Townsend In reply to ThorsAssassin [2010-06-07 19:47:59 +0000 UTC]
haha, I just watched that movie!!! GET TO THE CHOPPAH!!!! XD
I'm pretty pumped about goin over there. Being as I'm in the Navy, and the unit that I'm in, I'm getting alot of oppurtunities that the majority of the navy doesn't get. The vast majority of the navy ISN'T combat units so my being a part of an expiditionary warfare unit is great for my career. It sucks being away from the family, but my wife married into the military so she knows what to expect. This'll mark my longest deployment (400days) but like I said, the pro's far outweigh the cons on this one.
π: 0 β©: 1
ThorsAssassin In reply to Jake-Townsend [2010-06-08 01:52:41 +0000 UTC]
Bad ass man! So you are career navy then? What were ya doing on your downtime? National Guard or Coast Guard? Been in the reserve or something? I honestly don't know much about how it works. I wanted to get into one of the branches way back when but they turned me down.
I would be pumped up too! You have children with the wife by the way? (sorry if thats too nosey, just tell me, I shut up easily )
π: 0 β©: 1
Jake-Townsend In reply to ThorsAssassin [2010-06-08 14:07:54 +0000 UTC]
haha, it's no problem. I've got one kid so far, a boy.
Yea, I'm career navy. I did 4 years of active duty, got out in 06 and did the college thing, now I'm back in as a reservist. I got the call back to active duty for this deployment, and when I get back home from Iraq, I'm gonna be transfering back to full time active duty. This process can take a while, with the Navy (and the rest of the military for that matter) being over-manned. So while I'm waiting to get back to active duty when I get back home, I'll be continuing as a reservist.

Hey jake, not sure if you've known this already but have you noticed this particular inker Jonathan Glapion?
I realized he has the most distinct style apart from all others, even comparable to THE SCOTT WILLIAMS O.O
Well, just a random thought LOL

I would love to if I can find some spare time! I'm crazy busy with Wolfenheart and getting this first issue out, along with blasting away pages (my artist has the tendency to drop 3 or 4 on me at a time) but if I get some downtime I'll do it up!
