Hello! I see you use the casting resin quite a bit, and I'm new when it comes to using it, so I have a question and hopefully you can help...
Okay...I have this piece of art that uses melted crayon wax and fake flowers on a canvas, and I'm rather pleased with it and how it turned out, but the only problem is that I'm scared to death that the flowers and the crayons will come or chip off. I just bought some Castin' Craft Polyester Casting Resin just to try it out (I've seen some fun crafts made with it), and I got the idea of protecting my piece of canvas-art with a few coats of something strong, also another reason why I bought the resin.
But, I see that everyone uses molds (and ONLY molds, gesturing from the videos and tutorials I've seen so far) with casting resin. I can't really use a mold for a canvas, so I was thinking I could just brush it on, you know, with a paintbrush. But sadly, I have really no idea how to use or what casting resin does to what I'm dealing with.
So, here's my question: Can casting resin be used as a protective coating, AND can it be applied with a brush but still get the same look (you know, clear and not all foggy) as if it were in a mold, or does it sadly only work with molds?

Oh, don't worry about it at all! In fact, I never really tried this, turns out. I went with using something else, which I have to admit was a bit of a pain, but everything turned out great! Now I have a big unopened can of resin that I have yet to do something with... ._.

I'm currently trying to reach a level of quality at which I can actually start selling my pieces. And I am going to apply for a handcraft fair next month, which takes place in december. I'm dead serious about making a living of this.
Actually I study biology and I want to focus on plant taxidermy. I'm making jewelry because it allows me to gain experience with diffenrent plants and to earn a little money during my studies.
