# About me
As an art student, I have most recently developed my work around an interest I have in media fan culture or "fandom". I like to look into the communities that form around various films, TV shows, animations, comics, etc. and the productivity that emerges from that. I look into fandom while adopting the role of both an observer and a member of the community. Because of this, I also have come to appreciate how my own fan works are just as relevant a part of my portfolio as any other "more original" works.I believe fanart is a type of art that exists based on participation, rather than technical skill - I don't think there is necessarily such thing as "bad" fanart.

I share your interest in fan art. I think that we watch and view so many images from media, TV, youtube, etc. Β That those images have become hubs that "we" can relate to.Drawing or painting a picture of something you are a fan of is like drawing or painting of a beautiful sunset landscape whatever person. Β And participation at whatever level is part of the art pieces. Β You said it every well in your statement.Β

It's from an anime adaptation of a manga series by Junji Ito called 'Gyo'. Though, for some reason, the anime's full title is 'Gyo: Tokyo Fish Attack'.
No idea why they added that last part in.
