Aw, no problem. I'm interested in the character (and the art ). I always find it interesting to see what people do with mythology (given I do it myself) and he's a good deviation from the stock young-guy-average-joe-happens-to-have-lightning-powers, which is good to see--not counting Cole from InFamous, of course...

Thanks very much! Everett is going to become a regular character. He's really grown on me. I just can't seem to shake the idea of lightning-wielders being big dudes. Zeus, Taranis and Thor have ruined me for the littler guys.

Taranis, hmm? He's the only one I haven't heard of. I've covered Greco-Roman, Norse and a few other systems (although I have to say, something about Norse mythology just tickles me...) but my Celtic is a little patchy--much to my dismay. But yeah, I can see where you're coming from: it's difficult to imaging a wielder/ conduit of such a powerful and volatile, almost elemental force being slight or really in any way small. I tend to attach a certain level of hot-temperedness or emotional instability to it as well, but that could just be me.

He's a Celtic god found more frequently on the mainland. He was particularly prominent in Gaul and ranged from Spain to North Eastern Europe, and goes by different names in England and Ireland. I'm a lifelong pagan (not to make anything weird, here ...) and he is my primary deity. He's about what you would expect from a thunder god. Hot temper, more masculine than is good for him at times and able to throw down with other deities of his type. I did a piece that included him ... [link] ... in case you wanted a visual.

But you're right about the emotional instability, or so I have found. They've got nothing on trickster gods in this area ... but who does?

Welcome.
I think tricksters enjoy the opportunity to wreak more mischeif than usual under a semi-justified cause than anything else. ...Unless you're Loki, and then you get into as much msicheif as you please on a daily basis, like sleeping with everyone and everything anyone. Actually, I find, perhaps unsurprisingly, that Loki is one of the most intersting gods out there (to me, at least). He shows an appreciable level of character development, which seems unusal in mythology, going from a general trickster to actual outright evil.
I refuse to treat anyone differently based on their religion (unless it's a baby-eating thing... ) except for showing elevated interest in an area I may not be familiar with. (<Storm And Sun is lovely. I thought Taranis had a beard, but as you said, he is your god, so you're more likely to know about him than I am...
Gods with overdeveloped tempers alway amuse me--Thor throwing down on the giants, all the Greco-Romans cracking the shites at humans (admittedly, the mortals were generally boasting about somethign or other)and turning them into things, tricksters (ah, again they pop up) getting into things and irritating the hell out of their pantheon... Good times.

Loki is really fascinating. It's almost like a guilty pleasure of mine. I have a high level of chaos in life ... and the tricksters do nothing but add to it. But boy are they fun!

I am sure he should have a beard. But I figure a deity can change that kind of thing whenever. It's also a useful visual device to keep him looking different than other gods of his stature. I guess it's just how I always pictured him.

I think those little faults is what I like the best about pagan deities all together.

Given I have gods (fictional--but technically, who isn't?) who change their appearance on a regular basis, sometimes purely to confuse and irritate their Earthly contacts, that makes sense. I don't know, maybe he spent some time someplace hot on rec leave and he was getting heat rash... Something like that.

Yes, I adore tricksters. Of all kinds. From every mythology system. ...except Anasi, bu that could just be because he's a lazy arse, and he's a spider.

Pagan religions seem to put the greatest depth of detail into their divine (and demi-divine) figures. Why, I don't know. But they do, and it makes them extraordinarily interesting.
